Forum:Gravekeeper's Servant VS The Legendary Fisherman

Can anyone explain how The Legendary Fisherman is immune to Gravekeeper's Servant? Gravekeeper's Servant required that a card is discarded from the top of the deck. It effects the controller, not the Fisherman. Yet this site and others insist that The Legendary Fisherman, Silent Swordsman LV5, and Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6 are all immune. I tend to agree with this ruling when I duel, but that's because I'm using the Fisherman. But me and my bro can never come to agreement, and though i hate to admit it, it makes sense that you would still have to discard a card in order to attack. If anyone has an explanation as to why, please reply.— This unsigned comment was made by 74.100.178.31 (talkcontribs)

The ruling pages on this site are quotes from various official sites; see also: Project:Card Rulings.
The ruling that states that seem to appear on UDE and yu-judges.com.
Your observation is true should you compare it with something like Elemental Hero Wildheart. But since it is ruled like this, I would assume that this could be a case of BKSS, or maybe a mistranslation. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 11:57, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Its simple the card states its unaffected by the effect of spell cards so Gravekeeper's Servant doesn’t activate when The Legendary Fisherman attacks whilst Umi is active.

You didn't see the contradictory point in either of out posts, did you?
Elemental Hero Wildheart - "This card is unaffected"
Threatening Roar - "Your opponent cannot declare an attack"
opponent ≠ card. Wildheart cannot attack because the player cannot declare the attack.
The Legendary Fisherman - "this card is unaffected"
Gravekeeper's Servant - "Your opponent cannot declare an attack unless"
∴ The Legendary Fisherman must mill from Gravekeeper's Servant?
However, the rulings say otherwise. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 22:10, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
