Forum:How do you know if something targets or not?

One of the most confusing rules is the targeting, say if I had King Dragun on the field and my opponent activates draining shield or sakeretsu, do they target?

  • Yes, because they tell you to choose a card on the field. That's how you know if a card targets another card. --Bluedog (Talk) 20:54, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

So all the cards on that list can be stop by Dark Illusion if they target a face-up DARK monster on the field? DivineSorcerer 07:55, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Well, I don't trust that list 100% because it's unofficial. I don't know if it really has all cards that targets, or not, OR if it has a card that does not target in there. But with a quick look on it, I think it is correct, except the Pyro Clock of Destiny. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 08:42, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
"Pyro Clock of Destiny" targets the card (if it is face-up on the field, like "Swords of Revealing Light") or the effect (if the card is not face-up on the field, like "Crush Card Virus").
The list may be unofficial, but it was proofread by Corpse, who is a high-ranking Judge and is extremely knowledgeable and experienced about rulings. It is relatively trustworthy.

Well, since he is a high level judge, I think I can trust him (lol). Ah! Also, yes, Pyro Clock of Destiny really targets those cards. So it belongs to the list. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 13:15, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
  • ATEMVEGETA really thinks he's better than the judge......(what a joke!) — This unsigned comment was made by 119.93.51.39 (talkcontribs) 14:14, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Look! First, I didn't know that he was judge (especially high-ranking). Second, I'm also a judge. (Not too high level, but judge). Third, don't forget to sign your post with ~~~~. It creates a signature with your name. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 18:11, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
    • There really was no need to be like that, especially since Atemvegeta acknowledged it right after DEM pointed it out. Methinks you are just trying to find an excuse to be snarky. Danny Lilithborne 01:22, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
