When it comes to be slowed down in summoning, Kaiser Colosseum is the worst for you to deal with, even that it is hard to find a strong monster with no other monsters on both side of the field and right before he/she activates this card, but it would extremely hinder your playing, especially when you Xyz or Synchro Sumonning because you would be able to control only one monster. In this situation ,it is worse than El Shaddoll Grysta,El Shaddoll Winda,Thunder King Rai-Oh and Vanity's Emptiness because it also blocks normal summon and set. Worse than Summon Limit,Summon Breaker,Gozen Match and Rivalry of Warlords if you already have an equal or more monsters as your opponent's because you won't be able to summon or set anything anyway. And worse than Bottomless Trap Hole,Torrential Tribute and Solemn Warning because you can't even do a summon in the first place. Even it is hard to be fully affected with this card but it will quite certainly shutdown your game. So isn't this to broken? Chcfd (talkcontribs) 16:13, September 11, 2015 (UTC)

Welcome to YGO, where the competitive scene is about not letting your opponent play the game. I recommend you stay away from the OCG format which is worse about this.
Kaiser Colosseum is a Floodgate a LOT of players hate floodgates with a burning passion (like me), and I assume you just found out why the hard way.
as a floodgate though, it could be worse. its not a trap so you can't chain it when your opponent attempts to summon and it forces your opponent to maintain a small field presence to maintain a lock.
This also means it is vulnerable to monster removal and is utterly worthless if the opponent already has a field setup. it Also means its as good as you can protect your monsters.
You have clearly never seen a Bujin deck play this. Summon Yamato, play this, put helmets on. win.
Vanity's is worse though as it doesn't have most of those drawbacks.

Kaiser Colosseum has the catch that you can't have a massive field or your opponent could counter you with one of their own, but it also requires you to have some field presence or it's dead to you. The El Shaddoll Fusion monsters are different and not on the same level, they're only in one deck and Grysta needs a cost to work while Winda isn't particularly powerful and can be stopped with many more cards than Colosseum, I'll give you that T-King and Emptiness can shut a lot of decks down, but they're hit anyways so I don't see what you're getting at. Rivalry and Gozen don't need to be hit either, especially since many recent decks and archetypes have monsters of the same attribute and/or type. While I don't like getting the very first monster I summon destroyed by BTH or Solemn or Torrential, they're all limited so setting a ton of backrow isn't as scary nor hard to get over as it sounds, but they tie into Heavy Storm (or Harpie's Feather Duster in the OCG) more than floodgates. Not every deck in the game is named Bujin, and even so, that deck is slow and bricks too often to be an issue, even with Colosseum. It's a gimmicky card that only works in a few decks, since a lot of current decks like having a lot of monster presence on the field, making Colosseum less useful than other stuff like Emptiness.

Tl;dr, the card doesn't need a hit, and it probably won't get one either. Ninety-eight (talkcontribs) 19:22, September 11, 2015 (UTC)
