Forum:Life Point Gain Deck

Hear the good news! Life point gain has, at long last, become a viable strategy! This is mostly because of Ancient Prophecy, which features many of Luna's cards, which gain life points for the user. So, I guess you could call this a realistic version of Luna's deck.

Well, here's how I plan to:
a) Gain a lot of life points, very quickly, and:
b) Make use of all those life points.

For monsters, Nimble Momonga is a must. It increases field presence and my life points at the same time! Kuribon may seem a little gimmicky, but it blocks an attack and increases my LP - and bounces itself back to my hand, so I can use it again and again. Zeradias searches the Sanctuary (of course I put the Sanctuary in the Sky in). Sunny Pixie serves as a tuner with Life Point gain appended. Then, there's Nova Summoner. It's amazing in this deck; I can search out Kuribon to block an attack, Sunny Pixie if I'm ready to synchro summon... and Airknight Parshath. It's a card-drawing piercing hell of a card. Not to mention its advanced form, Neo-Parshath, which serves as the deck's win condition by virtue of its ATK boosting effect. Then, Golden Ladybug is a quick way to increase my lifepoints without losing any sort of advantage. Sangan searches out most of this deck. Prime Material Dragon techs against burn decks, has a neat anti-destruction effect, and just fits in with the whole fairy theme. Finally, Honest is an obvious choice with so many LIGHT monsters.

First and foremost on the spell list is the reason why I think that Life Point Gain decks may soon be a viable strategy; Ancient Leaf! In this deck, it's Pot of Greed. The Sanctuary in the Sky stops battle damage against most of the deck's monsters, and supplements Nova Summoner and Neo-Parshath. It's so important for the deck that I put in Magic Reflector (which is so much better than Field Barrier) to protect it. Book of Moon is an all-around tech card that allows me to make better use of the Parshath Piercing abilities. Spell Absorption can gain life points very quickly, so it goes in. Finally, there's Monster Reborn, MST, and Twister - the last one is another bit of tech.

For traps, I've got 3 Wind Blasts to spin away my opponent's cards. Dark Bribe takes preference over Solemn Judgment because I REALLY don't want to pay away that many life points. Mirror Force is a great card, and Radiant Mirror Force is good swarming tech.

In the extra deck, there's Ancient Holy Wyvern, which works well when I have a lot of life points. Ancient Fairy Dragon goes in because, after all, this is practically Luna's deck; also, it has some neat life point gaining and swarming effects. Thought Ruler Archfiend and Magical Android gain life points. Catastor is a great tech card (see my featured card article about it!) Avenging Knight Parshath is an obvious choice. Finally, there's Stardust Dragon, Light End Dragon, and Black Rose Dragon - all excellent cards.

Tell me what you think of this concept deck. Runer5h 16:01, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

  • Nice Deck... My only thought was to Add Dark Snake Syndrome and Des Wombat to the deck. DSS when Prime is on the field will add life points to both players.. after a good few turns (if it stays but tbh i bet an opponent wouldnt say no to free LP lol) when the life gain is huge (while this is getting to this stage try and keep your LP above theirs) then remove Prime get Wombat on the field and watch as the opponent Squirms as Huge LP damage is inflicted to him and not you due to wombats effect lol. just keep wombat alive while devestating damage is done ;)

Yes this could back fire but i like it :) lol

I'm thinking no on Dark Snake Syndrome - that's a different deck entirely. Runer5h 14:27, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
My advice: Get rid of "Radiant Mirror Force." It barely qualifies as usable. I would recommend Effect Veiler instead.

One minor mistake you may have made.......

First, I love LP gain. I run it in Magic, and it pisses people off, which proves your deck is working. "Haha, you take 10000 damage!!!!" "Congratz, that was about 1/10 of my LP." *Opponent cries a little*

But I think you misread Kuribon. It increases the OTHER PLAYER'S LP. Not yours. You might want to keep that in mind. --Akiza'sRose66 18:31, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Whoops. Well, I did misread it. So, I'll replace that with a copy each of Marshmallon and Arcana Force 0. They're actually better blockers anyways. Runer5h 18:38, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
Couldn't help it (MotD), use Kuribon + Nurse Reficule + Shift to give a LP burn too.
You could throw in a Bad Reaction to Simouchi to counter that as well

Suggestion/New deck idea

Actually, there is a card which can help you gain life and deture your opponant from attacking your monsters, Ancient Crimson Ape. Because you gain 1000 life points whenever a LIGHT monster is destroyed, your opponant would have to think twice before attacking. You could also create a new deck wile making only a few small changes. What I had in mind was Life gain / burn. You could add cards such as Magic Cylinder and Kuribon + Bad Reaction to Simochi combo. Burn damage would be very usefull because it would allow you to keep a large lead in life points. User:RyuPhalian

Actually, Ancient Crimson Ape works with all monsters. However, I don't think that would work so well, because it's a pain to summon and not that aggressive. Runer5h 19:16, September 8, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
