Insert dumb question here: Does Royal Oppression Target tbe monster being Special summoned, thus, if Lord of D. is on the field and I special summon a dragon and they use Royal Oppression, can my Lord of D. negate it or does it not target, thus my Lord of D. is useless? Thanks. Mastermind6656 (talkcontribs) 02:56, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

I believe your dragon will still be negated because your monster has never actually been summoned, therefore, Lord of D's effect does not work. Zlilyeakidz (talkcontribs) 04:53, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

Zlilyeakidz is right in that any dragon monster whose special summon is negated by Royal Oppression because the monster isn't considered to be on the field yet. However, your opponent does not have to negate the monster with Royal Oppression. They can also chose to negate the card whose effect is doing the special summon. So, in short, the only way Lord of D. can protect against royal oppression is if the card doing the special summoning is a dragon itself.

Regardless: Royal Oppression Does not target, Thus Lord of D. cannot prevent it in any manner-Resk (Talk) 17:54, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

the post, in its original form, was very condescending to the post before it. I have no problem with the fact that royal oppression does not target, just that the offending post was not provided in a constructive manner (for example, a better way wording that post would have been, "I believe you are wrong in that Royal Oppression does not target, so Lord of D. would have no way of protecting your dragon monsters from being negated." Had the offending post been worded in this manner I would not have had any problem with it. In fact, I even removed the mention of targeting from my original post to avoid any confusion as to whether or not I was saying that Royal targets. If more people would just take a moment to be a little more considerate of others before they post a correction of someone else's post, there would a lot less drama on this site than there is now. 204.236.219.46 (talk) 17:38, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

  • Are you a mod? No. You're a nameless random user, so who are you to tell people how to structure their sentences and respond? There is no site rule against condescending remarks, and frankly, it's only your opinion that it was condescending - I don't feel it was at all. If a person is wrong, another person has the right to tell them that they are in whatever form they wish. Get over it. It's not about consideration at all, it's about growing some balls and realizing that not everything can be molded exactly the way you wish.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 18:52, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

For rulings quries, most often people are seeking out the answer to the question, and end up saying TL;DR, so I oft just get to the point, with compacted statments, and as yet, you're the only person to complain of me :3
