It will be an interesting format, and some odd choices in there...BassNettoHikari2...Talk to me... 07:01, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I'd say we sticky this now and unsticky Forum:September 2010 Forbidden & Limited Lists.
I don't get Goyo and Book... the rest are fine. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 07:03, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think anyone would have guessed BoM and Goyo, and Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier was a mistake on their part, even with Mass Driver Banned...BassNettoHikari2...Talk to me... 07:10, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Substitoad and Mass Driver are now banned, there shouldn't be any reason to keep Dewloren... -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 07:15, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I hate this banlist, My main decks are Blackwing and Quickdraw, both got hit hard. I don't see why, of all cards, Kalut had to go to one. And dandy could have been at two. The book of moon is a good change and the goyo and mass driver changes also, but still. I dont understand this. Jens (talkcontribs) 08:38, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Does Konami ban cards preemptively? Like... Goyo + Exceed Summon = Broken?
But then again, won't unlimiting Ultimate Offering + Gadgets = Broken Exceed Summons?
The only thing Book is really good at doing, is stopping long combos with Synchro (and soon, Exceed) Summons. Why would they hit it that hard... apart from that fact that there aren't too many spell negating cards. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 09:06, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

After all my guest is right, that Gateway will be limited......^^ at last!Black`Rose (talkcontribs) 12:40, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Jampong - Comments about the Banlist

Forbidden:

  • Goyo Guardian - I don't get the point that this Synchro monster got hit. Maybe to powerful.
  • Cold Wave - This is fine. Being stun for 2 turns is not good.
  • Mass Driver - At least there are no more of FTK burn decks

  • Goyo Guardian - Big, but I don't get it really...
  • Cold Wave - Now there is no-way to stop backrows barring Trunade, so setting everything is staple
  • Mass Driver - Took long enough

Lappyzard - Comments about the Banlist

Forbidden:

  • Goyo Guardian - I'm not sure this was necessary, but it is pretty broken. +1 every turn? Level 6? 2800 beatstick? On second thought, bye.
  • Cold Wave - Everyone saw this coming. Funny how no one looked at it until Glads made it popular.
  • Mass Driver - This has been abused too much over the years. Good call. I'm sure people will just use the Toon Cannon Soldier engine but IMO that's a bit slower.

Limited:

  • Honest - I didn't think LS was that prominent. Maybe in Japan.
  • Dandylion - Drill Warrior. 'Nuff said.
  • Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow - Well, since they hit Honest, fair enough. People can just search with Shura and then recycle with Dark Eruption if they really still want to abuse it.
  • Book of Moon - I thought this hurt a lot of top decks, especially Sams, BW, Plant Synchro, all of which they hit. I guess I can understand this. At any rate, no more Empty Jar decks.
  • Gateway of the Six - This really needed to be done, but I didn't think they would after less than a month in the TCG. I guess the OCG raping overruled it.

Semi-Limited:

  • Card Trooper - Sure. Why not? I don't think this card is too game-breaking.
  • Archlord Kristya - There's a surprise, but I guess the meta is really Special Summon heavy and this would be essentially an instant win card.
  • Spirit Reaper - .... ****. I hate stall.
  • Debris Dragon - I actually predicted this and everyone thought I was wrong. Suck it. Anyways, it's a free synch, and completely abuseable with Dandy and Darksoul. Major plusses.
  • Royal Tribute - Again, I actually predicted this and a lot of people thought I was wrong. GK's are better than a lot of people seem to think.
  • Overload Fusion - I have a feeling someone will try to run Cyber OTK again, but I doubt anything will come of it. Fine by me.
  • Megamorph - Sure. Monsters don't stick around long anyway.
  • Solemn Warning - Called it again, lot of people thought I was wrong. Actually, I was thinking Limited since it's fine at 2 anyway. Oh well. I don't really see the point.
  • Icarus Attack - I called this too. Everyone thought I was wrong. Too easy to abuse with BW swarming. Fine at 2.

Unlimited:

I'm fine with this. All I lose is Cold Wave and a Book or 2 depending on my deck. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 17:57, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Goblinpunch's thoughts on the Banlist

Forbidden:

Goyo Guardian- right after I finally obtained a goyo on tuesday from a tournament I topped...woohoo.

Cold Wave-...fair enough

Mass Driver- was there even a real need to ban this AFTER SUBSTITOAD?

Limited:

Honest-sadly agent angel deck in japan are fucking retarded good...so this does kinda make sense...but I'm still sad

Dandylion- damnit, but that means that decks spamming tokens will have to find new ORIGINAL ways to make the deck work

Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow- WTF? I don't honestly think the deck can be competitive anymore =/

Book of Moon- why hit such a good disruption card?

Gateway of the Six- I'm intrigued as to why we in the TCG had this deck for less than a month and it gets LIMITED

Semi-Limited:

Card Trooper-...cool =)

Archlord Kristya-again, agent angel decks are broke shit so this does kinda make sense.

Spirit Reaper-REALLY!? I'll take it.

Debris Dragon-not surprising

Royal Tribute- I don't understand why they'd ony semi-limit this card. it only takes 1 to fudge over a game 1st turn.

Overload Fusion-no comment

Megamorph-no comment

Solemn Warning- why was this on a list? who really runs 3 mainboard anyway?

Icarus Attack- That plus kalut being hit means blackwings have nothing now.

Unlimited:

Chaos Sorcerer-REALLY?

Snipe Hunter-no comment

Demise, King of Armageddon-Can't believe this went from limited to 3, someone will find a way and this will suck.

Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier- wasn't there some really stupid loop with this thing at 3?

Gold Sarcophagus- I guess people will have alot more searching to do...=/

Skill Drain- Beast King Barbaros format? skill drain decks could go off the chain again.

Ultimate Offering--yeah for gadgets...again. =/

but I legitimately wish to know why Goyo Guardian is banned...it's good but in my opinion not banned good.

Goblinpunch787

Another list and no Faultroll (sad).

I hate Honest and BoM for 1!!

--Lord Dolor (talkcontribs) 21:56, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

sory before but my english is bad.

i have to agree about Goblinpunch's opinion especially about mass driver ( SUBSTITOAD and some other's cards like Gateway of the Six get limit. i also heard before this gateway can do otk with mass driver in this forum ).

i also agree to lord dolor about faultroll ( at least semi limited ).

But i think skill drain being unlimited and ultimate offering being unlimited will make normal deck's type get stronger ( or also gemini ? having ultimate offering as another key cards to swarming, or be normal deck's with skill drain, justi break, gemini spark, and another normal monster cards like amulet of ambition ? ). so far i know not so many people thought use that deck anyway so we shall see what gonna hapenned. And last i think this card trooper gonna make Light sworn a chance to get stronger ( but i don't know for sure how it works, perhaps with machine duplication ? ) Gemini 93 (talkcontribs) 09:13, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

How will I use my empty jar deck now that Book of Moon is limited?

Book of Eclipse is something to consider. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 06:08, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

Seems that 6Sams were a very big problem in the OCG that they didn't give them the usual grace period of 6 months before things went down the drain. Alternatively, with a watered-down duplicate approaching next set, something has to be done to prevent things from worsening. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 06:08, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

My opinion

Forbidden:

Goyo Guardian – It’s good, but did it really need banning?

Cold Wave – Can be worse than Heavy Storm, but not very often, and I don’t think Heavy Storm should be Forbidden anyway.

Mass Driver – FINALLY!

Limited:

Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow – I must say, I’m surprised. Still, I guess it means that Blackwings can no longer be reckless.

Dandylion – I unconditionally agree.

Honest – This has needed to be here for ages, my question is, why did it take so long?

Book of Moon – Semi’ing this card would’ve been better. OTKs will now be easier to stop, since Trap Stun will shut down nearly all opposition.

Gateway of the Six – Saw this coming from a mile away.

Semi-Limited:

Archlord Kristya – If I made the ban list, this would be at least Limited. I mean, it gives the opponent almost no way to fight back. What were you expecting?

Card Trooper – Hooray! Machine Duplication is worth it again! This should’ve stayed Limited. I’m not complaining though – this is the only edit which affects my Rock Deck.

Debris Dragon – Needs to be hit even more.

Spirit Reaper – I guess this is okay. Out of all indestructible in battle monsters, Marshmallon is the only one which needs Limiting due to its lack of a negative effect. I guess the discard effect makes this semi-worthy, though.

Megamorph – Sorry, I thought that the point of the banlists was to discourage OTKs.

Overload Fusion – Ditto. However, this one hasn’t been so much of a problem since the release of Forbidden Chalice and Effect Veiler.

Royal Tribute – This needs to be Limited. This + Gravekeeper’s Stele = win.

Icarus Attack – See my comment about Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow.

Solemn Warning – This is fair. The select few running 3 were getting on my nerves. Could see it going up.

Unlimited:

Chaos Sorcerer – Umm... No. This thing is too good to be at 3.

Snipe Hunter – Infernities will like this. I wonder if it’ll be enough?

Demise, King of Armageddon – See my point about Megamorph. The Demise OTK still exists, and this banlist will remind people of that.

Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier – With Mass Driver gone, this is a no-brainer.

Gold Sarcophagus – If you run 3 of this anyway, you’re doing it wrong. It’s not that overpowered that it shouldn’t be at 3 anyway.

Skill Drain – I don’t know how I should feel about this. It’s good because it helps stop the meta but bad as it makes Skill Drain Decks meta again.

Ultimate Offering – If you couldn’t run this consistently at 2, you’re doing something wrong. I can’t see much coming from this. Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 20:13, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

This format is going to be interesting. With no Heavy Storm, Cold Wave, or Goyo Guardian back field is going to be even more important than ever. The powerful meta decks took quite a fall (blackwings, dandyplants) with Kalut & Icarus at 1 & 2, Dandylion & Debris at 1 & 2 respectively. This format i predict GB's will cap a huge comeback. Many threats to GB's have already been halted like Heavy Storm, Royal Oppression, Goyo Guardian, & Cold Wave. Other decks i predict will fair better this format like the underdog decks Machina & Karakuri. I believe we will see Gravekeeper's still be played even though Royal Tribute is 2, because even with Royal Tribute semi-ed they are still extremely consistent. As for me, the new list didn't put a damper on many of decks since the only one of mine that was hit a little was Gravekeeper's (which i will still play). It surprised me that Honest & Book of Moon is at 1. Honest at 2 is just perfect, Book of Moon at 2 would be great as well. The new list is trying to bring back, in my opinion decks lost to time. OTK and Chaos will soon be played more. I believe, along with more machine decks like powerful Machina's and annoying Karakuri's. Along side them GB's will be heavily played once again! 71.165.86.216 (talk) 04:46, February 21, 2011 (UTC)Automation44

I like this list, a lot. Specially the unlimiting of Ultimate Offering (my spirits are grateful, maybe I could give a pure spirit deck a shot this format)and the hit to Kalut and Icarus attack.HouseholdCatDeity (talkcontribs) 17:36, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Book of Moon not on Ban List

Just wanted to know for sure about Book of Moon. Did it really get hit or not? because I'm looking at a site and book of moon isn't listed in the limited... http://www.yugioh-card.com/uk/limited/

That's the UK List. I'm not sure if that makes any difference. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 20:55, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

It's a typo, download the pdf (http://www.yugioh-card.com/uk/limited/L-F-Liste_2011-03-01_EN.pdf), it's on that. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 21:07, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Holydragoncrusher - Comments about the Banlist

Goyo Guardian – I never thought it would be banned but considering the exceed monsters' release, this is necessary. Imagine stealing opponent's monster and using as exceed material where the monster won't return to their graveyard... too broken.

Cold Wave – Too obvious as it is abused even when Heavy Storm was around.

Mass Driver – Konami did a good move this time by preventing possible FTKs.

Limited:

Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow – Bf is still topping several tournaments so it seems necessary to balance the deck.

Dandylion – this is a must.

Honest – This is similar to kalut. Agent deck need to be weaken a bit to make sure it doesn't dominate this format.

Book of Moon – I saw this coming as most OCG decks are running 3 of this. One of Konami's move to make sure people can Exceed summon without any interruption.

Gateway of the Six – Too broken at 3, still overpowered at 2. At least at 1, there will be no more infinite loops.

Semi-Limited:

Archlord Kristya – Again, this is meant for Agent deck. But i would prefer it to be limited than semi'd.

Card Trooper – Don't really care.

Debris Dragon – Dandylion is already limited, why is this card semi'd then? A good +1 card. Debris Dandy is hard to play now, that's for sure.

Spirit Reaper – Don't really care.

Megamorph – Don't really care.

Overload Fusion – Don't really care.

Royal Tribute – This needs to be Limited. At 2, it is still a threat to many other decks.

Icarus Attack – Hitting Kalut is not enough?

Solemn Warning – Very good decision...

Unlimited:

Chaos Sorcerer – Too good to be at 3.

Snipe Hunter – Don't really care.

Demise, King of Armageddon – Don't really care.

Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier – Don't really care.

Gold Sarcophagus – Not really recommended to use 3 of this.

Skill Drain – Anti meta can benefit from this.

Ultimate Offering – Don't really care.

Overall, it is a very balanced list. 神聖なドラゴンクラッシャー (talkcontribs) 00:14, February 22, 2011 (UTC)

New list officially up

The list is now officially up on the main site. Here is the link http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/index.html. Macroman2011 (talkcontribs) 05:27, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

1exodiafan1 - Comments about the Banlist

Here are some pros I have for this new list:

"Goyo Guardian" being rendered Forbidden: That card always drove me crazy, since it stole any monster it destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. Too many OTKs were used with this card.

"Overload Fusion" now Semi-Limited: It's not perfect, but now, you can Fusion Summon more than 1 DARK Machine monster—which is perfect for a Cyberdark user who also uses "Chimeratech Overdragon".

"Megamorph": At least it finally dropped off the Limited list. But it may be overkill for anyone trying to double their monster's ATK, and then doubling it again.

"Card Trooper": "Troop Dupe" can be used again (by comboing this card with "Machine Duplication"), even though you're limited to only 2 in a Deck.

Now, here are some cons for the new list:

"Honest" (and "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow"): I'd said nothing when "Honest" became Semi-Limited, but now that it's Limited—as well as "Kalut"—I'm just in such a state of shock that I can't even comment. These cards are my favorite cards to date, and now that they're Limited, I want to express my utter disgust and disappointment over this decision.

"Dandylion": This is like "Phantom of Chaos" all over again (when it jumped from Unlimited to Semi-Limited and back again): First it was Limited, then it was Semi-Limited, and now it's back to Limited. It's made 2 changes in a row to 2 different lists.

1exodiafan1 (talkcontribs) 03:19, February 24, 2011 (UTC)1exodiafan1

to the above post: You do realize that the effect of Megamorph does not stack when you have multile copies equiped to the same monster, right?

Macroman2011 (talkcontribs) 18:55, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

In response to Macroman2011's post: Yes, now I do.

1exodiafan1 (talkcontribs) 22:00, February 25, 2011 (UTC)1exodiafan1

If people love goyo so much they should try Ghost Knight of Jackal. it has the exact same effect except its unlimited.--DoitForTheLulZ! (talkcontribs) 15:05, March 18, 2011 (UTC)

It's got low ATK, needs a Tribute, and it's not as splashable (like Synchro Monsters are). -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 22:51, March 18, 2011 (UTC)
