Forum:Mask Change Card Ruling Help

SO I was in a tournament and was using Masked HEROs because they are fun. When I attempted to use mask change during the battle phase from my hand, my opponent told me that was an illegal move. When I explained this to the Tournament leader, he agreed with my opponent, saying it had to be face-down. For those of you who don't know, Mask Change is a quick-play spell card that targets a face-up hero you control and summons a Masked HERO from your extra deck with the same attribute. There was nothing on the field prohibiting the summon (like vanity's emptiness) and there was only one monster besides my HERO on the field, a face down. Please help, and tell me who was wrong. Why don't you tell them to read the rulebook? And are you sure something like "Anti-Spell Fragrance" wasn't on the field? If your judge made an honest mistake, I can only assume that this was a very casual tournament, if they got something that basic wrong. --UltimateKuriboh (talk • contribs) 15:46, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

Quick-Play Spell Card

lemme quote the Official Rulebook (page 25) which can be found here http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/rulebook/EN_SDSE_Rulebook.pdf.

"These are Special Spell Cards that can be activated During any phase of your turn, not just your Main Phase. you can also activate them during your opponent's turn if you set the card face-down first, but then you cannot activate the card the turn you set it"
