Plz Be Truthful

I've taken out many powerful decks with this one, even a full blown perfect elemental hero deck, 5 times this morning, lol Plz Be Honest

I'm gonna be Honest with you and say that I just don't feel comfortable reviewing these kinds of decks? Why not?
"Ooh, it's Traditional Format! Well, in that case let's throw in Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster, Pot of Greed, Delinquent Duo, Tribe Infecting Virus, Black Luster Soldier, Sinister Serpent..."
The list goes on. It's weird, but it's easier for me to make a deck in which I actually have restraints. But I will say that the deck looks sort of random and unfocused. Runer5h 02:49, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • I agree with Runner. The best decks aren't the ones that are made of all-powerfull cards, they are the ones with a strong strategy and excellent execution. Using cards that are extremely advantageous is fairly weak in my opinion. Why not test yourself to build a deck that is fresh and has a new strategy or theme. Take my Dragon Synchro Beatdown. It manipulates battle positions to take advantage of my most powerful (and some of my not as powerful) monsters. How many people use that? I haven't seen or even heard about anyone trying it. Your deck is powerful, but try to be more original. Messengerofthedark 03:24, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Messengerofthedark
Runer. 1 N. Remember that next time; it's a pet peeve of mine.
Misspellings aside, he's absolutely right. I have a lot of fun making original decks, not cookie cutting or netdecking. You - duelists in general - should do that a lot more often. Runer5h 03:33, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
Sorry, won't happen again.Messengerofthedark 03:36, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Messengerofthedark

Well, i've tried for an original deck soo many times, but, well, this is kind of original to me, because, well, i dunno, The deck does have strategy, but, only when you've used it for ahwile and understand it, im not saying u guys are wrong, but, hey, every original deck i've built sucked, because, i only have older cards, the newest i have is cyber end dragon, I love my deck, its useful, i won 2 tournaments with it, against very strategic duelists, i think its a great deck

I guess that I was a little too harsh. If they are really the only cards you have, then I don't mind as much. A more updated version runs around Sky Scourges (I also run one). That may help in Advanced tournaments, but they are tricky and require lots of balance. Messengerofthedark 03:41, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Messengerofthedark

Scy Scourges? well, lol, im working on my deck, adding one of my fusion monsters to it, skull knight, and maybe, swords of concealing light, and defensive cards, i hope that'll make it slightly better

Yeah, I was a bit harsh. Sorry. By the way, I think that any Sky Scourge deck should have Kuriboh, Winged Kuriboh, and The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh. Runer5h 15:30, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

What's wrong with netdecking? It's the only way to win a tournament. People who don't play in competitions should not post in this forum. The Horror Speak if you dare 15:45, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

... you should probably just go. Runer5h 16:11, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

I do Play In Competitions sometimes when i have the money.. >.>

  • Netdecking is terrible. In my local hobby league, there are about 8 different decks that are competitive. If you are going to netdeck, then why are you playing? Sure there are some must have cards, but to rip someone off and steal from what was originally theirs is truly weak. You take the credit for something you have not done. In anything else, that is called plagiarism (which is illegal), and you my friend, are committing plagiarism in a card game. You are lucky that the law does not extend into such areas. Messengerofthedark 22:15, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Messengerofthedark
Damn straight. It's all right to copy a general idea, and use some of the same cards (for example, I personally think Allure of Darkness belongs in any deck with lots of DARK monsters), but at least put some creativity into it! Otherwise, you're replacing yourself with a robot set to the 'obey' function. (If that makes any sense... sorry, I have a talent for bad analogies.) The only way to win in a tournament my *** - a guy made top 8 in Shonen Jump championship with an innovative Jinzo - Returner deck, and Jerome McHale of Metagame.com did the same thing with Counter Fairies. Hell, Jonathan Moore won Shonen Jump Houston with The Six Samurai! Runer5h 02:25, 10 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

  • I completely agree. But, if I see a interesting tech in a SJ champ's deck, I will try it out. And I'll only use it if it works for me. There is a certain difference in learning from another, and taking a complete deck list. No one would get anywhere in Yugimonz if we didn't learn from someone else. Just my opinion, though. --bewk3 04:12, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Excellent way of putting it. Taking small things, like a different combo involving the same cards, is fine and definitely encouraged. Improving is better than repeating. Messengerofthedark 04:30, 10 May 2009 (UTC)Messengerofthedark

exactly, i came up with my deck plainly on my own, its getting even better, i added a mask of restrict to it now, so yeah, it helps, plus i got that new Zombie deck and edited it alot, lol, it helps >.<

  • To Runer5h: First of all, stop taking everything so seriously. I don't say you should just copy somebody's deck. You should copy it and improve it (duh). And Counter Fairies and Six Samurai decks are actually meta. So were Machine decks some years ago. The Horror Speak if you dare 16:43, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Okay. You were talking about net-decking, though, which is the exact copying of another deck. But if that's not what you meant, then that's fine. (BTW, Counter Fairies and 6 Samurai are hardly meta decks. They're popular, but you don't see them very often topping Shonen Jumps.) Runer5h 19:24, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

The Horror

i agree with the horror speak if you dare person whats wrong with netdecking.Plagiarism i think the judicial branch has better things to do than card games.Peoples deck are not registered trademarks so if i am not mistaking its not illegal.--Gyzarus 18:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Of course it's not illegal. No one's suggesting that it should be illegal either - just severely frowned upon. Runer5h 19:24, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
