Forum:NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, this is going to be a medium-length rant, and if you agree with me, rant as well.

LIGHTNING VORTEX! I swear, Lightning Vortex is the new RAIGEKI! This card is an absolute nuisance. I mean, you discard one card to destroy ALL my face-up monsters? What the **** were you thinking, Kazuki??? Do you remember any of these cards: Swords of Revealing Light, Ceasefire, Card Rotator, or Dark-Piercing Light? ALL THESE CARDS FLIP YOUR CARDS FACE UP, THEN WHAT DOES YOUR OPPONENT DO? "Oh, I just played my ceasefire...ooh..uhh..look this card is pretty...Lightning Vortex so...it..uh..sais here that I discard one card to destroy all your face-up monsters *sniff* that I just flipped face up with ceasefire. Umm...oh yeah... FIVE-HEADED DRAGON, ATTACK DIRECTLY! *Sparks fly* hehe..I guess I win..."

With this card, along with the three destruction brothers-Fissure, Smashing Ground, and Hammer Shot actually make any respectable Duelist to resort to swarming or lockdown. It's no longer which monster is stronger or which combo can I use to overpower his monster, it's "Which monster should I destroy with my 'I for I' spell cards that I have 9 of in my deck. I suggest a semi-limit or limit on this card, because it seriously is broken. What kind of cost is discarding one card for destroying all face-up monsters I control? It's Tribute to the Doomed x5 with -4 the cost! It's Raigeki all over again!!!!!!!!!!!!

The second card I wish to complain about will be the infamous Creature Swap. This card has ruined me so many times. I just had made my big come back, and I got my *1* most powerful monster on the field, and he's going to wipe out my opponent next turn. What does my opponent do? They ******* summon Arcana Force 0 - The Fool or a bloody Marshmallon, and I have my face-down Reverse Trap in case they try to pull anything with Honest, then what do they do? BAM! I lose my only monster, my 3000+ attacker, to this incredibly weak Meat-Shield when played in defense mode-but a complete jerk when it comes to attacking, and BOOM! There goes the Duel. SEMI LIMIT THIS CARD, PLEASE!!!

My last two cards may be ones you can relate to. Wall of Thorns and Froggy Forcefield. Remember why Mirror Force is at 1? Because it is a great card, but it belongs at limited. So, now these Frog Synchros, Frognarchs, WetLandsfrogs and just plain MassDriver/Roadintoadin decks have this card that can wipe out my entire attack force, and they run 3!!! That's a total of 4 Annihilation cards! GASP! And then there's Wall of Thorns. 'Ever heard of this card called "DNA Surgery"? Use it during your opponent's standby Phase, change all monsters on the field to plant-type, and when they attack- BOOM! Wall of Thorns wipes them out! I wouldn't necissarily want to limit or semi-limit this card, as plant decks needs all the help they can get, but not when anyone can use it with DNA SURGERY! *GASP!* You could run *7* Attack-Position Wipe-outs in one Deck! A DNA SURGERY FROGNARCH MASS DRIVER/ROADINTODIN UNBEATABLE AND UNSTOPPABLE DECK! OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REVERSE CARD OPEN! Book of Eclipse! *watches Lightning Vortex fizzle out* Now you know one way to dodge this card.
If this has been bugging you, I suggest investing in some S/T negation. Hopefully this will at least reduce the pain you're experiencing. Maybe Stardust Dragon or Prime Material Dragon, too, since they can block off destruction effects. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 04:34, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Lightning Vortex. It is not broken. Swords of Revealing Light? You don't use that to open up targets for LV. You use it when you're about to be screwed, so you aren't. Ceasefire, Card Rotator, Dark-Piercing Light, none of them are good enough to be used. Lesson 1: If you've thrown all your monsters face-up on the field, you probably deserve to get your ass kicked by LV. Duel conservatively. You only need 2 monsters on the field at most: one giant beatstick to crush their defenses, and one beatstick to crush their Life Points. Keep the others in your hand, so cards like LV and Mirror Force DON'T completely screw you.

Of Fissure, Smashing and Hammer Shot, only Smashing is worthwhile. It's a 1 for 1. Definitely not broken. Lesson 2: BE PREPARED for your opponent to use these cards! DON'T let it screw you over! It's really not that hard to do.

Creature Swap. It's really not all that. If it's really giving you that much trouble, then... Lesson 3: Play your SECOND strongest monster. That way, if they steal it, you still have something to trump it. CS is not that hard to deal with.

Wall of Thorns and Froggy Forcefield. It's just a Trap version of LV. DNA Surgery isn't worth running just to abuse Wall of Thorns. It shouldn't screw you over that bad. Lesson 4: Keep anti-destruction cards ready. Stardust Dragon is the number one. Prime Material Dragon and especially My Body as a Shield are very splashable cards. Use them well.

Lesson 5: Learn how to play this game. If cards like this are screwing you over, learn how to deal with them. It's that simple.

You should only be scared of Lightning Vortex if your deck swarms way too fast. If you have 5 monsters on the field, you should expect your opponent to activate Lightning Vortex. You might activate Lightning Vortex outside a swarm if: you need the discard from Lightning Vortex's cost, really desprate, need to kill something strong, or just for kicks.

Creature Swap is annoying, but usually your opponent play CS to their advantage. If you have 3 facedown Spell/Trap cards and a good CS monster, while your opponent only has CS and some wimpy monster in their hand, your opponent usually won't play CS. Opponents that use CS against me usually wait until I have very poor field advantage, where it's one good monster with no hand and no spell/trap cards. --184.96.242.103 (talk) 00:57, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Destruction Jammer anyone?

Destruction Jammer makes Lightning Vortex look like trash after you use it, it's basically a Prime Material Dragon.

that destruction jammer is ehh, its starlight road with a cost, and starlight road special summons stardustTeamCheckMate (talkcontribs) 21:44, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Only drawback with Starlight is that it can't be used if only one card is being destroyed. (Bottomless anyone?) I prefer to also use My Body as a Shield. Sure, it's got a 1500 LP cost, and it's only Spell Speed 2, but it's saved me from many a Bottomless/Mirror Force THE TURN I DREW IT. Starlight and Destruction Jammer can't do that.
