Forum:Old deck that needs review

So I've been absent from yu-gi-oh! For literally a decade. I want to make a come-back but knowing that a lot have changed the last 10 years, I'm certain my deck could use a check-up first.

The core of my deck is restricting the opponent as much as possible, while swarm with powerful monsters.

First off, ditch the Ritual Monster stuff and Invader of Darkness. They won't do much for your Deck, even if you can Summon them. Gaia Soul the Combustible Collective also isn't very good because it'll only last one turn. Monster Reborn is forbidden again so take that out. Wall of Revealing Light is pretty bad too because it costs high Life Points to stop the majority of monsters. A better card would be Messenger of Peace, which is not only a Continuous Spell but will still hit the vast majority of monsters for a very minute fee. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 20:00, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

@MasterMarik Thanks for the comments, the reason why I have Invader of Darkness is because Quick-Play Spell Cards are a huge issue to my deck, as long as he's active that problem is gone. How can I replace that?--En eller anden (talkcontribs) 20:05, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

And by the way, I always wanted a Dragon Master Knight that's part of the reason why Black Luster Soldier is in my deck--En eller anden (talkcontribs) 20:18, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

You won't see too many Quick-Play Spells these days so it won't be much of a threat. You may want to try Prohibition and declare the Quick-Play Spell your deck is weakest to most. Plus it won't hurt your Deck as your list doesn't include any of the cards that could be a threat. Soul Drain is also a better alternative to Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Bou as it's a mere 1000 Life Points to stop most effects in the Graveyard. Some of the other cards eem more random than anything else like Disc Fighter and Twinheaded Beast. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 21:03, September 26, 2014 (UTC)
Disc Fighter is my weapon against high defense and Twinheaded Beast is a member of my swarming team, combined with Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou he is a powerful sweeper. And Soul Drain seems to work on me too unlike Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou?--En eller anden (talkcontribs) 21:31, September 26, 2014 (UTC)
Although weaker, Mataza the Zapper has Twinheaded Beast's effect, is searchable and cannot be taken from you by your opponent and sure Baou only affects your opponent but you won't always have a card to discard and looking at your list, none of the monsters you have would be affected by Soul Drain. On top of that, Space Mambo and Zure can be replaced by Gemini Elf and/or Alexandrite Dragon as either monster is stronger than what you have now. Drillroid is a much better alternative to Disc Fighter as it doesn't care how strong the Defense Position monster is. On that note, Shield Crush is another way to take out Defense Position monsters without activating their effects. Level Conversion lab is risky because you have roughly a 1 in 3 chance of getting a monster let alone one that can be Special Summoned. Dark Magician also isn't all that good when Blue-Eyes needs the same Tributes and has 500 more ATK and 400 more DEF. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 22:20, September 26, 2014 (UTC)
