Forum:Slight Modification of standard T.G. Stun

So, I was messing around at my locals, and ended up building this deck to replace my old Blackwing deck, which I anticipate being hit so hard by the ban list that they become unplayable. Now, this is a pretty standard build, with a few changes, mainly due to my own budget restrictions, as well as me anticipating the banlist. Anyways, here it is, I'll explain some of my choices later.

Okay, so thats the list. Most of it is standard, like I said, but I made some changes.

Thunder King Rai-Oh : I prefer him to King Tiger Wanghu, mostly because he has 1900 attack, which is quite high, has a good effect, and when played correctly, can totally ruin decks. Also, nobody within 10 miles of me has Wanghus for trade, so that is also a factor.

Pitch-Black Warwolf: Its a random tech, but he's cool. If you don't believe me, try him yourself.

Pot of Duality: There are only 2 because I only have 2. I'll get a third later, probably. I'll drop the Mind Crush when i do get it.

Solemn Warning: Again, I only have 1. Also, I expect this to be Limited in the next ban list.

Trap Dustshoot: With all the hand advantage I create for my opponent with Dark Bribe, this helps limit that, plus it totally wrecks if I draw it turn 1. It tend to side it out anyway.

Mind Crush: With all the searching that happens in the current meta, this card is great. If I'm not main decking it, it'l be on my sideboard.

I see quite a few gaping holes with Rai-Oh, but otherwise this is good. One: Rai-Oh is not a target for horn. Two: Rai-Oh stops T.G. searches. Solemn Warning will not be Limited-it's fine at two. Trap Dustshoot...I'd suggest not using it. Mind Crush, on the other hand, is fine. However, you don't need it much if you have Rai-Oh. So take out Rai-Oh and add in Wanghu. "Soul Release" looks so lonely. Decree Plants will be finished long before you draw it. You said no Wanghu, so I suggest also adding "Power Filter", or keelhaulin' it all and just throwing in another Veiler.

I think the most likely card to be hit is Tengu, probably to 2 to match Malicious.

I'm not sure where you live, but this entire list is pretty standard for America. And Boba, Thunder King won't stop searches if you have Skill Drain. Lappyzard (talk • contribs) 19:59, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

BobaFett2, the Thunder King has to be played correctly for it to do well, so I obviously don't leave it out when I expect several of my monsters to be destroyed. Also, Tengu being hit is unlikely, due to the fact that that Japan doesn't have it yet. Oh, and Lappyzard, I understand the deck is very standard.
