Forum:Syllable Deck

I've been tinkering around with a deck that's supposed to take advantage of the new Legacy of the Valiant card, Onomatopair, by mixing the Dododo and Gagaga Archetypes together (I believed Gogogo to be a little restrictive, them being Level 4 and all).

To pay for the cost of the card, Summoner Monk was included, allowing the deck to choose between trading the two in for new cards, or summoning a new monster. Alternatively, a higher level monster was used, to pay the cost of Kaiser

The Dododos were meant to cover Gagaga's slow summoning speed via Dododo Witch and Dododo Driver, allowing them time to summon larger XYZs.

The deck itself is fairly simple, made to easily summon big XYZ monsters, preferably by Dododos, then later, stronger ones like 'Fran Ken' with the others.

After testing the deck out a little, I realised Witch and Driver seem to be the most frequently used cards in this deck. Are there any cards that might work well with them?

May someone please do some nitpicking with this deck? Thanks! Chromace (talkcontribs) 11:32, November 11, 2013 (UTC)

Pretty please? Chromace (talkcontribs) 21:49, November 11, 2013 (UTC)
With sugar on top? I'd really like some help. Thanks. Chromace (talkcontribs) 04:08, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe "Level Lifter"? --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 03:57, November 15, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion! The card is pretty helpful in using the higher level Dododos. Summoner Monks got ditched. Weren't too useful really... Chromace (talkcontribs) 06:11, November 15, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm...if that's the case, there's no need for those Chalices. Best to replace with Effect Veiler. Chromace (talkcontribs) 12:39, November 15, 2013 (UTC)

A Swordsman of Revealing Light might be a good tech addition to this deck. -Kungfu-mama (Talk) 19:28, November 15, 2013 (UTC)

Interesting...but what to replace? Gagaga Gardna is pretty nifty with Kaiser, since it can potentially take only one turn to set up a high rank XYZ Summon (that is, if the opponent helps out). Perhaps Gagaga Magician and Girl could go? They are a little slow. Chromace (talkcontribs) 00:16, November 16, 2013 (UTC)

Nah, ya need Magician. Bring out Swordsman, summon Magician, instant level 8 XYZ.-Kungfu-mama (Talk)

I've updated the deck a little with these suggestions. Trying a slightly different route, putting a larger emphasis on Kaiser's level changing abilities rather than the Gagaga Duo (AKA Girl and Magician).

Is there a card I could do away with to slip in Gagaga Magician? Swordsman isn't being utilised enough on its own - apart from being Kaiser fuel.

Level Meister is slightly underused, but that's okay, since this deck has only four higher level monsters. Kaiser and Clerk can bring out Rank 6 and 8 XYZs fairly easily (limits choice a little, but it's not too bad).

Anything to improve on? Perhaps some more monsters to trigger Kaiser's effect? Feedback will be appreciated! Thanks. Chromace (talkcontribs) 11:12, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm...penny for anyone's thoughts? I'm still in the tinkering stage. Perhaps Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger? If so, then what to replace (or any other suggestions)? Additionally, Level Meister has been replaced with Gagaga Magician, due to KFMs valid points (it also did not make enough plays). Thanks! Chromace (talkcontribs) 11:06, November 25, 2013 (UTC)

Oh! The new update for YGOPro came out, and lo and behold, I find Gagaga Academy's Emergency Call Network for actual play! Now how to fit one in, if any...thoughts? Chromace (talkcontribs) 11:10, November 25, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think you really need emergency call, since you have so many monster cards that do essentially the same thing. -Kungfu-mama (Talk) 16:32, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Still, if you want to try Emergency Call Network, you could always try dropping Dark Hole for it. That sounds crazy, but there's been a lot of articles on how Dark Hole isn't necessarily all that good in this format. Also, if you want, you could always drop a Veiler for a 2nd Magician.-Kungfu-mama (Talk) 18:23, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Indeed...I've tried it out in a pure Gagaga Deck and to be honest, it's not all that useful (it's the requires no monsters on field but on opponent's that bites). The only thing stopping me from adding another GM is his speed, even though he does combo well with Dododos as well as Swordsman, hence why I was a little excited when Emergency Call came out. Are there any other monsters which could work decently with GM? Thanks! Chromace (talkcontribs) 10:05, November 27, 2013 (UTC)
