This is my attempt at a Tech Genus (T.G.) deck. Simple case of Synchroing for the various Synchros depending on the siuation. Anyone got any suggestions for changes in the card line up?

Small Edit: Included 1 x Junk Synchron , 1 x One for One , +1 extra T.G. Cyber Magician and T.G. Rush Rhino , 2 x Pot of Avarice , 2 x TG1-EM1 Removed 2 x Cyber Dragon , 1 x Chain Disappearance 1 x Enemy Controller , 3 x Upstart Goblin

and 1 x Torrential Tribute.

  • -3 upstart Goblin
  • -2 Enemy Controller (I'll show you a much better card for this deck)
  • -1 Chain dissaperance
  • -1 TGX3-DX2
  • -1 TG-SX1
  • -1 Elder of the Six Samurai
  • -2 Cyber Dragon (these interfere with Striker, and Elder would only be good with Striker for level 5 synchros and cyber dragon couldn't be used for level 5 synchros at all0
  • +2 Pot of Avarice (better draw power then Upstart and recycles monsters)
  • +3 TG1-EM1 (best theme card evar. take a monster, give them a weak T.G. and destroy it and search out another)
  • +1 Cyber Magician + Rush Rhino
  • other cards worth trying: Junk Synchron, Doppelwarrior, Dandylion, Glow-up Bulb, Spore, Lonefire Blossem, one-for-one

Some good suggestion's there, however I'm trying to avoid the Synchro Engine involving, Junk, Doppel, Glow-Up Bulb etc. I could drop the Cyber's for another rush rhino, and cyber magician. And also the upstarts for pot of avarice. I want to keep Elder in as it is a decent Level 3, and allows for Shi En to be used, which is a plus in it's own right. And I could drop the Chain Disappearance and 1 Controller for 2 TG1 EM1

Any other suggestions would be helpful. I may eventually include the Junk engine, but for now I want the deck to be more original.

You could always run 1-2 Junk Synchron without Doppelwarrior, since he can bring back Catapult for a level 5 synchro or a striker to trigger warwolf. I'd also take out 1 Kinka-Byo, I personally only use one and I have 4 level one tuners and One-for-one to help search them, but you only have 2-3. it's up to you though and I'd say test it to see if you can use two effectivelyStarmetroid (talkcontribs) 23:05, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

A Tech Genus Deck using the Flamvell engine (Firedog, Magician, Rekindling) just got top 32 at YCS Orlando. You could try that out. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 23:11, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Just had a crazy idea of combining my most used and favourite deck (The Six Samurai) and one of the most fun decks i've ever used (T.G.) Anyone got any ideas of how to make it better?

Was just wondering if anyone had an opinion on the T.G/Six Sam hybrid build?

UPDATED T.G. DECK!

Tell me what you think of the deck as it stands. By the way, I don't want to include Junk Synchron or Dopplewarrior. Thanks in advance.

Too monster heavy. Birdman, Allure, and De-Synchro are out of place. Judgment, 2 Warning/Bottomless, and 3 Horn of the Phantom Beast are needed. Pure T.G. (with Tengu) is better than Plant T.G. Without the Plants, Kinka-byo, One for One, and Formula Synchron become out of place. Elder is out of place too but I know you like him. King Tiger should be considered. Skill Drain should be considered. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 01:29, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I do agree with some of the points you made, such as Horn of the Phantom Beast , however in this deck I feel 2 would be appropriate, I just forgot about the card whilst editting my deck. I think Dandylion, Spore and Glow-Up Bulb are all necassary in my particular build as mine is intended for quick synchroing, and glow-up + spore combine well for multiple synchro's and dandylion just works very well.

I do sort of agree with you on Birdman, but it does combo nicely with Tengu (obviously) and also with Rush Rhino, whilst I control a Cyber Magician. It means I can still Synchro for Wonder Magician/Hyper Librarian, whilst having another Tuner available to either Synch with another monster, or Synch with Librarian for Stardust. Allure has 5 Targets in my deck as current so it will stay until the lineup changes, which it may well do, just need to work out what to drop and what for.

Judgment and Warning are diffcult for me to get hold of so I cant consider them as of yet, but they are something I will consider. And Skill Drain just doesnt fit right with me so I won't be using it. Finally King Tiger is very good in a T.G. deck, however it's another card im unsure of, because whilst it does help immensely in some cases, it doesn hinder me in terms of my own Synchroing so for me it would be a side card choice.

Sorry for the long reply, but anything else will be helpful, you definately have giving me somethings to think about. In regards to reducing the number of monsters what should I remove? also is there any other card that could fit in well? Thanks for your comments

Judgment is a Structure Deck Common, as is Bottomless Trap Hole, which is the best Warning substitute atm. Horn of the Phantom Beast is broken, you should definitely run it in 3s. Trust me, I was reluctant to try 3 because of dead draws, but the plusses are so worth it and it really doesn't dead draw that often. It's far more effective as a draw engine than Allure. It's obvious that Birdman combos with Tengu, but there are so many other cards that work better. Birdman and Tengu consumes all 3 Tengus and gets you a level 7 Synchro. Even just as a Floater he's more effective than that. Birdman + Tengu is only worth it in the Divine Wind deck. T.G. decks have had more success without Plants than with them, but if you insist on keeping them I won't stop you. Seven Tools of the Bandit is superior to Trap Stun, in usability and in card advantage. Trap Stun stops your own Horn of the Phantom Beast, is at best a one for one, and when it is it can't be used against Counter Traps, and if use it in your Standby Phase (which is most effective) then it leaves the Traps sitting on the field. Trap Stun is a worse Giant Trunade in every respect. Seven Tools is always a one for one, can be used against Counter Traps, and nets LP advantage when used against Judgment/Warning. You shouldn't have any trouble getting 7 Tools: it's a Starter Deck common. To reduce your monster count, I'd remove Birdman, Kinka-byo, and Spore. Spore is less effective without the Lonefires. From the european championship top 64, i got the idea of running King Tiger Wanghu because he is a good card for horn of the phantom beast and he is a really powerful counter strategy against many other meta decks today. --Shupac (talkcontribs) 20:53, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

In many of the top 64 North American deck profiles, TG players stated that they did not like King Tiger, and if they did it over they wouldn't run him. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 23:28, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

King Tiger sucks for T.G. It really does.BobaFett2 (talk)

EDIT: I have removed the Birdamn, Spore, 1 Elder of the Six Samurai, 1 De-Synchor and 1 Trap Stun and I have added 2 Horn of the Phantom Beast, 2 Bottomless Trap Hole
