Forum:Techs for Constellars

A few months ago I picked up a Constellar Deck but never did all that much with it. The main reason why is just that there isn't all that much to the Deck. I prefer Decks that need tweaking and can make creative combos but this Deck is IMO so samey and boring. Are there any interesting techs that can spice it up a bit? I want to try it out to its fullest before giving it up but I honestly don't know what I could use. --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talkcontribs) 21:09, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

Cyber Dragon, Photon Thrasher, and Ghost Ship are easily-summonable beaters and can act as Xyz Material when needed. If you have it, Honest is an important card to include, as Constellars are LIGHT. Other than those, you can look at the main Constellar article and scroll down to the recommended cards decklist for ideas. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 21:16, October 27, 2015 (UTC)
I already know about those. The article did have some strange suggestions (Egyptian God Constellars, really?) but it gave me the idea to use Kagetokage, maybe to get access to BLS and use King of the Feral Imps to tutor him quickly. --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talkcontribs) 21:36, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

It's tough to suggest anything that can spice up a Constellar build, because the goal of the deck will always be to make Pleiades. Even if you went for a more balanced off-Rank deck that made Rank 4s as well, you're limited by the fact that Praesepe requires Constellar Xyz Materials. All the inspiration I can give is to try other Level 5 LIGHTs - some have been mentioned, but you might not have considered "Hieratic Dragon of Eset", which you can use with "Curse of Dragon" (if you can Tribute it) to get DARK fodder and make more Rank 5 monsters. Also, if you play cards like "Ghost Ship", "Eccentric Boy" can work wonders, Summoning "Angel of Zera" to combo with a later "Ghost Ship". Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 00:08, October 28, 2015 (UTC)

That's exactly what I don't like about Constellars, they are often just "Pleiades.dek". The Hieratic idea sounds interesting, I might try that out. I had the idea of adding Solar Wind Jammer/Cyber Dragon and Star Drawing to make the Rank 5 plays easier but the problem is that Star Drawing is not searchable by RotA nor Tenki. Additional targets for these cards would be helpful, besides Photon Thrasher and Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear. --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talkcontribs) 21:07, October 28, 2015 (UTC)
A more practical mini-engine to use is Performage Trick Clown + Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades, aka Clownblade. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 21:17, October 28, 2015 (UTC)

I considered running Heroic Challenger - Assault Halberd but now that RotA is back to 1, it won't do much good. Should I run Constellar Sheratan to make up for this loss? Or could a more Beast-Warrior oriented build work? With Fire Fist Bear, Gorilla, Wolfbark, etc.. --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talkcontribs) 20:34, October 29, 2015 (UTC)

Another idea that I had was to use Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure to stun my opponent and use Ghost Ship and Sombre's effects to banish stuff, just so I can reclaim it with Light of Redemption and maybe Dimensional Alchemist. Are there any other cards that can recycle banished cards? --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talkcontribs) 20:42, October 29, 2015 (UTC)
Banishing + LIGHT = Lightray, like "Lightray Sorcerer". About other ways to recycle, see the lists: here, here and here. Another thing, most Constellars need to be Normal Summoned, so you could try a variant using "Gem-Knight Seraphinite". --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 03:22, October 30, 2015 (UTC)

Lightrays sound interesting. I just tested a Chaos build using Kagetokage and Black Dragon Collapserpent to make easier Rank 4 Plays and Pot of Dichotomy to recycle cards from my Graveyard. It works quite well. --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talkcontribs) 19:01, October 30, 2015 (UTC)
