At the Seattle Nationals and Regionals, 4 of 5 duelists were running Tele-DAD while the others were running Lightsworn. I didn't see a single GB deck. In fact, I think the TOP 16 were all Tele-DAD. So the question is, when are they going to limit D-Draw and Allure and Malicious back to 2? Lightspeed1967 19:18, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

SJC - Seattle had 1 Gladiator Beast deck in the Top 16 as did SJC - Tulsa. I agree that they need to semi-limit those cards, but I don't know when that will happen. Though for the most part, I'm happy that the Gladiator Beasts are losing. :) Animedude3000 20:42, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm glad GB's are losing also, but I prefer to run anti-meta, which is why I'm working on a Royal Oppression/Vanity's deck. Curse of Darkness will probably be in it also so they pay for their draw power. 69.10.218.18 20:48, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

I was quite surprised to see them bring Malicious to unlimited status when they knew fully well how awesome it works with Emergency Teleport. Hopefully with the next ban/limit list we get we'll see them semi-limit Destiny Draw, Allure of Darkness, and Destiny Hero - Malicious. If they do that, then there won't be a problem with keeping Emergency Teleport unlimited. However, these restrictions will allow Gladiator Beasts to roam rampant again, so they'll touch that too now that Japan has Test Tiger. -- Sub 03:04, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Agreed! Limiting draw power (for dark monsters) will slow Tele-DAD and will bring back GB's, but there are other builds with Synchros which could match GB's. Personally, though, I just hated facing the same deck over-and-over again at regionals. There was no variety to it, which is why I left early. The best thing about dueling is facing a variety of decks so you can fine tune your own. Facing the same thing repeatedly became boring. Lightspeed1967 19:51, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Which is reason enough to stay down at the smaller tourneys. :3 --Gadjiltron 01:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Not really, here in Marysville, yes I said Marysville of all places, the winner of the SJC for the second time plays at the local tourney and even so, he doesn't run a GB deck. Although I agree that GB decks will come back if they limit the draw power of the other cards. The Seattle SJC and Regionals were pretty crap since everyone was running nearly the exact same deck. I use to run a deck that was all dragons with a LV 10 Armed but after three weeks of getting demolished by the same decks one after another, I went back to lockdown again. Running the Spell, Trap, and Special Summon lock going to slow down the meta-deck BS. Success rate is around 60% sadly due to lack of draw power.

  • I have an Anti-Meta deck in the Deck Help section which has pretty good success against Meta Decks. At my local tourney I managed to be the only non Dark Armed Teleport deck to make playoffs (top 4), but I did end up losing to one of those decks. Even though it doesn't have draw power, it has pretty good deck thinning ability so that I will draw the cards I need as the duel progresses. -- Sub 02:39, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

I've noticed 2 things to stop Tele-DAD, which are stopping spells and special summoning. For this I've been designing around Fairy-Fiend with Invicil and Vanity's Fiend, though I've yet to finish the build or test it. Any other ideas? Lightspeed1967 21:19, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

yea, teledad will only get better from the release of the crossroads pack, but! i can see lightsworn getting a significant edge from this pack as well, plaguespreader in lightsworn = easy access to goyo and even black rose. oh, side note, i was in tulsa for the shonen, and i had to play nelson ( the 1 glad beast deck in top 16) in round 2 (i got wtfpwned lol at ratbox)

Actually, I was thinking running ZombieWorldLightsworn... with Lightsworn's swarm, Plaguespreader, and Book of Life/Monster Reborn... with Goyo... if I get the build right it could be deadly... Lightspeed1967 19:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm building one right now in the Deck Help section, but I've yet to get my hands on Plaguespreader Zombie. Also, Rose, Warrior of Revenge + Lightsworn Swarming + Zombie World is absolutely deadly. I've consistently synchro summoned up to 4 times per turn and that's using only one Burial from a Different Dimension (other one is coming in). I hear they have pretty good ZombieSworn decks in Japan, but I don't know what the better builds use. -- Sub 04:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
