i activated the two uni-zombie's effects by targeting itself and now he gained two additional levels which mean it became a level 5,if i activated downbeat on it can i special summon a level 4 zombie monster with the same attribute from deck or just a level 2 and why? and is it the same thing with transmodify? — This unsigned comment was made by Saad lh (talk • contribs) 03:38, 13 July 2019
- When resolving their effects, "Downbeat" uses the Tributed monster's original Type and Attribute on the field, while "Transmodify" uses the sent monster's Type and Attribute in the Graveyard. However, neither card specifies in its text whether the Level used should be its Level on the field or in the Graveyard. "Downbeat" doesn't have a specific ruling for this situation, but the ruling for "Transmodify" states that the monster's Level in the Graveyard should be used, so I would advise following a similar ruling. So, in either case, since "Uni-Zombie" is Level 3 in the Graveyard, you can Summon a Level 2 monster with "Downbeat" or a Level 4 monster with "Transmodify".
