Forum:What is OCG and TCG? whats the difference?

??? i heard it always in tournament... but but but i dont know whats the meaning of TCG and OCG?

all i want s to join the tournament....

TCG means Trading Card Game and OCG means Original Card Game. OCG is played in asia (japan, Korea, China and so on) while the TCG is played everywhere else (America, Europe and so on).
There are no explicit differences between OCG and TCG. It just means that you can't use a deck that combines OCG and TCG cards in official games. Local tournaments normally only allow TCG cards thus decks that include asian cards are banned from those. Poseidome (talk • contribs) 08:37, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

what banned cards? so it means that I cant use the Dark magician card that i bough in US here in japan? ^^ And one more thing ^^ i Heard this cards called Asian cards? what are those? cards that can use only in Asia? ^^

Im not sure but, if you are in japan and your deck is TCG (america or english cards) you cant participate in the tournaments, you would have to get your deck in the OCG format...or well get cards in japanese haha --PhoenixSoul (talk • contribs) 03:39, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I think that you can use TCG Cards in OCG Tournaments, but you cannot use OCG Cards in TCG Tournaments.Altyrell (talk • contribs) 04:26, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

From the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game page: "With the exception of TCG only cards, TCG cards are legal in OCG tournaments. Due to the cards having different backings, if a player chooses to use a mixture of OCG and TCG cards, they must use protective sleeves that cover the back of the cards.
