Talk:List of Yu-Gi-Oh! online games[edit]

This article had sections on Yu-Gi-Oh! Virtual Desktop, Game King Online and BYOND (Duel Monsters Expert, Duel Monsters Online and Duel Monsters Unlimited) when it was deleted. There were a few other small name ones in the page history too.

We've had this article long enough. This Wiki is supposed to only deal with official TCG/OCG and Takahashi's manga and anime. This article only seems to exist to advertise the unofficial, unendorsed games that exist online. People on DME have been wondering for some time why this article is here, and as a DME regular I have to agree. Danny Lilithborne 01:29, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Well we're not restricted to official content only. There's quite a bit of non-canon content here. But yeah, I dont mind if we delete this page. Official material gets articles no problem, even if it's something minor. Unofficial however, should be notable/popular in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom. People trying to advertise or pass their own content (eg. Decks they made themselves) in the mainspace that are not notable otherwise should not be allowed. -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:13, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm against deleting this page. Perhaps we should take away the comercialization bits of it, but it helped me find out ways to play online (really!). My favourite is infomap dueling. That's all! -- Lordofdarkworld ([[User talk:Lordofdarkworld|talk]]) 15:01, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Forget what i said, delete it! -- Lordofdarkworld (talk) 15:02, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Just as this wiki is a gateway to booster packs, official games, and anime information, I think it is appropriately within this wiki's scope to be a gateway to dueling itself. That's certainly the purpose of this page, a gateway to additional means of playing Yu-Gi-Oh. The main audience of this wiki is of course those who already are duelists. Duelists would come for information not just of cards themselves, but information to improve and expand their game, such as the various Rules/Gameplay pages and the many decklists. This page serves that same conceptual function as well. Deleting is extreme. If you feel the page is advertising instead of supplementing a duelist's needs, then that just means something should be changed. --TerraGamerX 11:45, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Maker[edit]

Can I ask why a page like this was allowed to exist? Isn't this allowance of a what is basically an advertisement for another website? Something no other site would allow without some major reasons and definitely not by a member. You might as well have a article about Shriek's blogs, or Janime or even Pojo. Isn't the YCMaker WIKIA already a lot more than a whole article onto itself? After all, it's just that. A wikia for listing created cards? Isn't that a lot more appropriate? We don't allow created cards here, but we'll advertise where to go to create them and no other sites to boot? ShinobiPhoenix 08:20, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

I'm in favour of deleting this. YVD and KCVDS are flagged for deletion for the same purpose and articles for other online Yu-Gi-Oh! games have been deleted in the past. An article that about a fansite that just describes the site itself is only an advertisment.
I wouldn't say no fansites should get an article. If they have some sort of influence or major impact on the fandom. Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series is unofficial, but the hundreds of thousands of fans, influences on the fandom, controversies on YouTube and maybe that open web award, make it notable enough to mention here. Netrep has an article too. It is a popular site, but the article is kinda sketchy, since it has much more info about the site itself rather than why it's important. Shriek and Janime are often the first place loads of fans get OCG and animanga info. I'd say they're on par with Netrep as to whether they should have an article or not.
Back to this article. As it stands it's an ad. If it's to be kept, it should have more info about what makes it notable, but I don't think that's possible. It is somewhat popular, but nothing major. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:06, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
  • My point exactly, I know for a fact as someone who keeps daily contact with him that Shriek wouldn't like an article about his blog here. Janime, who knows, I can't speak for anyone in charge of that place, but what would be the point? Pojo, most certainly not, the closest to influence would be the start of all this OCG vs TCG crap, but highly controversial indeed. Yet, all of those would be more worthy than YCMaker having an article based on nothing more than telling people to join to make graphical cards (outside of doing it oneself).
