While Ghost is an opponent in the games, it does not have animations or lines of its own while dueling - instead, all Ghosts are made to look exactly like other duelists, and use their same overworld sprites and in-duel phrases. In the japanese version, they also use their voice clips, although with a robotic voice filter applied. In the games, this is explained by Lazar to be functions added to Duelbots through a special series of programs, which Primo installs into the Diablo Duelbot army to further his plans.
While Ghosts are most frequently dueled while they mimic the Sector Security officers Dean and Wade, they can take on the appearance of other people as well. A Ghost imitating Maia is faced during Tetsu Trudge's second story event in Tag Force 5, and another Ghost disguised as Lazar is seen during Primo's third story event in that game. Furthermore, two particular Ghosts impersonate Primo and Crow, and are fought in Tetsu Trudge's last story event in Tag Force 6.
Ghost is strictly a story-only character. Outside of story events, it cannot be encountered on the field, and it is not available for Free Duels in Tag Force 5. Gameplay-wise, it is also considered a separate character from those it imitates, disallowing them from using Ghost's Decks.
