「星界（せいかい）の三極神（さんきょくしん）」の一（ひと）つである「極神聖帝（きょくしんせいてい）オーディン」を代々（だいだい）受（う）け継（つ）ぐ一族（いちぞく）の出身（しゅっしん）で、その継承者（けいしょうしゃ）。
シグナーに似（に）た人智（じんち）を超（こ）えた力（ちから）を持（も）ち、その証（あかし）として「ルーンの瞳（ひとみ）」と呼（よ）ばれる左目（ひだりめ）を持（も）つ。
クールな銀髪（ぎんぱつ）の美男子（びだんし）。

代々伝（だいだいつた）わる「ラグナロク」と呼（よ）ばれる世界（せかい）の破滅（はめつ）の予言（よげん）と、その危機（きき）に立（た）ち向（む）かう運命（うんめい）を執事（しつじ）のセバスチャンに知（し）らされ、オーディンを受（う）け継（つ）ぐのに相応（ふさわ）しいデュエリストとなるため、幼少（ようしょう）の頃（ころ）から修行（しゅぎょう）を重（かさ）ね、ついにその継承者（けいしょうしゃ）となった。そののち空軍（くうぐん）に入隊（にゅうたい）するも任務（にんむ）の最中（さいちゅう）に世界（せかい）の危機（きき）の前兆（ぜんちょう）「フィンブルの冬（ふゆ）」を感（かん）じ取（と）り退役（たいえき）し、自分（じぶん）と同（おな）じ宿命（しゅくめい）を背負（せお）う「星界（せいかい）の三極神（さんきょくしん）」の継承者（けいしょうしゃ）であるドラガンとブレイブを探（さが）しだし、チーム・ラグナロクを結成（けっせい）。
世界（せかい）の破滅（はめつ）の元凶（げんきょう）であるイリアステルを倒（たお）すべくWRGPに参加（さんか）する。
打倒（だとう）イリアステルはチーム・５Ｄ’ｓ（ファイブディーズ）と目指（めざ）すところは同（おな）じだが、「ゼロ・リバース」を引（ひ）き起（お）こした不動博士（ふどうはかせ）の息子（むすこ）である遊星（ゆうせい）に、破滅（はめつ）の運命（うんめい）を感（かん）じ取（と）り警戒（けいかい）している。

「極星天（きょくせいてん）」を軸（じく）に「極星（きょくせい）」と名（な）のつくカードを用（もち）いたデッキを使（つか）う。
エースモンスターはもちろん「極神聖帝（きょくしんせいてい）オーディン」。

The current latest inheritor of "Odin, Father of the Aesir", one of the Three Aesir, which has been in his family for generations.
He possesses supernatural powers similar to the Signers', evidenced by the Rune Eye in his left eye.
A level-headed handsome man with silver hair.

Learning of "Ragnarok", the prophecy that foretells the end of the world, through the words of his family's butler Sebastian, he has been training diligently since his childhood in order to become a duelist worthy of wielding the Odin card, and eventually became its fated inheritor. He then began to serve in the Air Force, but during one of his missions, he felt the coming of Fimbulvinter, the precursor of the end, leading him to retire from service. Seeking the other inheritors of the Three Aesir, who would be burdened with a destiny similar to his, he eventually met Dragan and Brave, and they formed Team Ragnarok.
They entered the WRGP in order to defeat Yliaster, the mastermind behind the destruction of the world.
But while they and Team 5D's both share the goal of defeating Yliaster once and for all, they believe the Zero Reverse was caused by Doctor Fudo being fated to cause destruction and that Yusei carries the same future.

He uses "Nordic" Decks centered on the use of "Nordic Ascendant" monsters.
His ace monster is of course "Odin, Father of the Aesir".
