"Hell" (地獄ヘル, Heru) is an archetype of cards used by Sect Ijuin in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's manga. The monsters are all Insects, and many of their support Spell and Trap Cards' effects activate by sending "Hell" monsters from the hand to the Graveyard.

Design[edit]

Monsters belonging to this group are based on arthropods, and have a demonic and cartoon-like appearance, with bodies covered in spikes and sometimes possessing exaggerated facial expressions. Their symbol is a white skull with a black background, which is featured somewhere in all of the monsters and in some of the Spell/Traps.

Trivia[edit]

  • The only "Hell" monster released in the TCG is "Hell Centipede" where it is renamed "Hundred-Footed Horror". The localization of 「ヘル」 as "Horror" rather than "Hell" is likely to avoid the latter word's associations with religion, death and mature language.
