London Kirishima (きりしま ロンドン Kirishima Rondon) is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. Initially introduced as Manya Atachi's manager, London is later revealed to be a member of the Rovian Bandits and a significant figure in the efforts to defeat The☆Lugh.

Design[edit]

Appearance[edit]

London closely resembles Roa Kassidy from Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS. He has green eyes and curly red hair. London dresses in a stereotypical disco style outfit; he wears a yellow long sleeved polo shirt under a cyan shirt, with a plunging neckline, tucked into a pair of pink pants held up with a white belt that has a golden buckle in the shape of a star, and brown platform shoes with a grey outsole and heel.

Personality[edit]

London has a very upbeat attitude, rarely frowning. He is also very friendly and caring towards Manya, as her manager, taking her luggage for her while thanking her for coming out to appear on Mutsuba Cable TV. He also answers to her needs, ordering her sushi and getting her juice after her Duel, while joking with her. London is considerably perceptive, capable of deducing a person's true thoughts when they have yet to voice them.

London presents himself as playful and lighthearted, though he consistently has his own agenda in stopping The☆Lugh. In this he is both selfless and selfish, volunteering to help Nyandestar both for her sake and because doing so would be a feat unique to him.

Biography[edit]

First Arc[edit]

London accompanied Manya to Mutsuba Town and the Mutsuba Cable Studio for their Rush Duels against the local elementary school team, led by Manya's childhood friend Yuamu Ohdo. Once Manya arrived at Mutsuba Cable TV, London thanked her for coming while taking her luggage in for her. When London and Manya entered the waiting room, he also thanked the members of UTS for coming out. Once asked, he left to get Manya the "goods".[5]

London was due to Duel second after Manya's Rush Duel with Yuamu, but Bochi requested to Duel next, as his former owner Manabu Sogetsu was in attendance and he wanted to see how strong Manabu had become. After Manya's loss to Yuamu, London brought her a juice and congratulated her, assuring her that her sushi had been ordered and explaining about Bochi's request to her.[6] While Bochi Rush Dueled Manabu, London waited outside the studio for Manya's sushi, but the delivery boy, Chupataro Kaburagi, instead attacked London and drained his energy.[6][7]

London recovered after the Duel and once Manya had worked with Mutsuba Cable to cover up the sudden appearance of Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan, she had London purchase Duel Rice Crackers from Mutsuba Honpo as gifts when they visited Yudias at the UTS office. Once there they watched Manya's cover-up, London praising her ad-libbing, before Manabu and Nyandestar arrived to question Yudias over the whereabouts of his former commander and the one behind Chupataro, Zuwijo zir Velgear. Yudias had no idea where Zuwijo was, and Manabu dismissed the visit as a waste of time, but complemented the rice crackers, prompting London to thank him. Afterwards Yudias decided to train again and Manya suggested her "special training from hell", which London assisted in conducting, playing along with Manya's acting. A video of Yuamu tricking Yuhi by checking her Graveyard in a Duel gave Yudias the idea to find Zuwijo by understanding his intentions, and London accompanied them to Chupataro's apartment, which London found nauseating. He and Manya suggested Zuwijo and Chupataro had just wanted attention, opening the window for some fresh air and expressing admiration at the view of Mutsuba Tower. London's observations caused Yudias to realize that Zuwijo was trying to send a message and was likely at Mutsuba Tower to broadcast it, so London carried Manya on the way to Mutsuba Tower, where they found Zuwijo and Mitsuko Hiramori.[8]

As Zuwijo and Yudias argued over how to end the war in the Velgear Star Cluster, London asked if they could keep the war away from Earth once he learned Bochi knew of the war. Yudias and Zuwijo Rush Dueled, and to London's terror, Zuwijo materialized "Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir" with Yuhi's Earthdamar and almost tipped the tower's platform. Yuhi tried to create another Earthdamar for Yudias, but only succeeded in making smells to London's disgust. London then accompanied Manya and Bochi to cover up the Rush Duel as special effects for television, witnessing the power of the Earthdamar being spread across Mutsuba Town.[9] The Earthdamar's power caused monsters to partially materialize across the town, and Manya encouraged the townspeople to avoid their Decks and Duel Disks until the phenomenon ceased. The phenomenon was stopped by the intervention of Asaka Mutsuba, who removed the Earthdamar from Mutsuba Tower with her Heavy Cavalry, and Yudias eventually defeated Zuwijo. London, Manya and Bochi returned to the top of Mutsuba Tower to find Yuhi waking up, having fallen unconscious due to the use of the Earthdamar during the Rush Duel, and witnessed Mitsuko fleeing with Zuwijo, commenting on the destruction the Tower had suffered, though Yudias believed Zuwijo had been hiding something.[10]

Second Arc[edit]

Mutsuba Cable and Manya assisted MIK in covering-up the Rush Duel between Yudias and Zuwijo zir Velgear. To London's shock, their broadcast was briefly interrupted by a protestor claiming the destruction hadn't been planned for TV before MIK agents took him away, though they were able to complete their broadcast.[11] Netsuzo Shinjitsu discovered the Space Treasure was reportedly under the UTS office, so London enacted a plan to distract both UTS and the other Rovian Bandits.[2]

London visited the UTS office as a client, claiming Yuna Goha had gone missing in the Alien Residential Area, a claim not entirely inaccurate given Yuna had left the Goha Company to join Rovian at Badloon Castle. London provided them with Yuna's name and some Rush Battlers to move around the area, but Galixon Tazaki opposed the request for being too dangerous and London accepted his request to settle the matter in a Rush Duel, hoping to distract Tazaki and the other adults and allow Yudias and the Ohdo twins to sneak away. London endured Tazaki's piercing strategy with his defense one, continually making subliminal suggestions about experiencing the unknown and never giving up. He defeated Tazaki with his own piercing effect, and though Tazaki told London he had reminded him of something important, London admitted he had been stalling. He tailed the adults to the entrance to the Alien Residential Area and witnessed them giving their blessing and a packed lunch to the trio, much to his satisfaction.[11]

Deck[edit]

London plays an Arts Angel Deck comprised of DARK Attribute Fairy Type monsters based on Casettes and other old-fashioned, retro instruments and music devices. His monsters directly contrast the LIGHT Attribute Fiend Type "Royal Rebel's" (known as "Royal Demon's" in the Japanese version) monsters used by Roa Kassidy in Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS. The primary playstyle of London's Deck revolves around Defense Position monsters, either as a defensive option, or as a way to inflict damage either through card effects or piercing.
