The March 2021 Skill Rebalancing is the eighteenth Skill Rebalancing to go into effect in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. It will be implemented with App Version 5.5.0, which will become available some time between March 17, 2021 and March 20, 2021, while the texts will be updated on March 25, 2021.

Updated Skills & official in-game rationales[edit]

  • "Transcendent Crystals"
    • Can be used turn 3 and onward by sending 1-3 cards in your hand to your Graveyard. Choose the same number of "Crystal Beast" monster(s) from your Deck as the number of cards you sent from your hand to the Graveyard, and place it/them in your Spell & Trap Zone. If you begin the Duel with a Deck that has 7 or more "Crystal Beast" monsters, you can use this Skill regardless of the current turn.
This Skill can only be used once per turn and twice per Duel.
    • "We are strengthening some character-exclusive Skills to make them easier to use."
  • "Iron Call"
    • Can only be used the next turn after you have activated "Iron Call." Return 1 Machine-Type monster from your hand to your Deck. Then, return 1 "Iron Call" from your Graveyard to your hand. This Skill can only be used once per Duel.
    • "We are strengthening some character-exclusive Skills to make them easier to use."
  • "Cubic Seeds"
    • At the beginning of the Duel, add 3 "Vijam the Cubic Seed" to your Deck.
This Skill can only be used if you begin the Duel with a Deck/Extra Deck that contains no monsters other than "Cubic" monsters. In addition, the number of Spell/Trap Cards that are not "Cubic" cards must be 6 or lower.
    • "We are strengthening some character-exclusive Skills to make them easier to use."
  • "Master of Destiny"
    • When you toss a coin, the result will always be heads for the first 3 coin tosses. Your first Normal Draw will be skipped.
This Skill will only activate if you begin the Duel with a Deck that has 7 or more cards with different names that require coin tosses. (Extra Deck does not count.)
    • "This Skill is given a harder activation condition, as more cards that work well with this card have been added to the game."
  • "What Grows in the Graveyard"
    • Can be used when your Life Points decrease by 1500. Add 1 "Dark Verger" to your Graveyard from outside of your Deck. This Skill can only be used once per Duel.
    • "This Skill is given a harder activation condition, as we're planning to add cards that strengthen Plant-Type cards in the near future, and more ways to utilize "Dark Verger" in the Graveyard have become available since the addition of the Skill."
  • "See You Later!"
    • Can be used when your Life Points decrease by 1500. Select 1 monster you control and which you are the original owner of. Return the selected monster to the hand. This Skill can only be used once per Duel.
    • "This Skill is given a harder activation condition as it can be used to gain a large advantage over the opponent."
  • "Balance"
    • Your starting hand will reflect the card balance of your Deck. This Skill will not activate unless you have at least 6 of each type of card (Monster, Spell, and Trap) in your Deck.
You cannot Special Summon or activate monster effects until the end of the Main Phase of your first turn.
    • "As the addition of the recent cards has given more Decks the ability to almost ensure victory with certain combinations of cards, we're giving a harder activation condition to this Skill to prevent the emergence of overpowered Decks."
  • "Restart"
    • Can be used only after starting hands are drawn. Reduce your starting hand by 1, and then redraw your hand.
You cannot Special Summon or activate monster effects until the end of the Main Phase of your first turn.
    • "As the addition of recent cards has given more Decks the ability to almost ensure victory with certain combinations of cards, we're giving a harder activation condition to this Skill to prevent the emergence of overpowered Decks."
  • "Spell Specialist"
    • If your Deck contains 5 or more Spell Cards with different names, you will have improved chances of having a Spell Card in your starting hand.
  • "Trap Layer"
    • If you have 5 or more Trap Cards with different names in your Deck, you will have an improved chance of having a Trap Card in your starting hand.
  • "My Monster Cards"
    • IF your Deck has 6 or more Level 4 or lower monsters with different names, you will have better chances of having a Level 4 or lower monster in your starting hand.
  • "Heavy Starter"
    • If you have 3 or more Level 5 or higher monsters with different names in your Deck, you will have an improved chance of having a Level 5 or higher monster in your starting hand.
