Moth (モス Mosu) is a series of EARTH Insect monsters. Each is an evolution of "Petit Moth" that is Summoned by waiting a number of turns that "Petit Moth" is equipped with "Cocoon of Evolution".

The Moth monsters were used in the anime and manga by Weevil Underwood.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses, the Moth monsters can also be Summoned by evolving "Kattapillar", "Acid Crawler", "Needle Worm" and "Larvae Moth" with "Cocoon of Evolution". Two additional stages are also added; "Larva of Moth" and "Pupa of Moth".

Playing style[edit]

The original series of Moth monsters focus on Normal Summoning "Petit Moth", equipping it with "Cocoon of Evolution", then waiting for multiple turns to Special Summon the higher-Level Moth monsters from the hand by Tributing "Petit Moth". Due to the slow speed and weak payoff of the game plan (none of the higher-Level Moth monsters have useful effects), the Moth monsters rapidly became obsolete after their release.

In Duelist Pack: Legend Duelist 2, the Moth game plan was reimagined into a much more streamlined and effective form by the card "Cocoon of Ultra Evolution", which tributes an Insect monster with an Equip Card to Special Summon any Insect monster from the Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions. While the originall Moth monsters can technically be summoned with this effect, "Cocoon of Ultra Evolution" has far better targets among the generic Insect monster pool, such as "Metamorphosed Insect Queen".

In general, it is not recommended to play the original Moth cards in Insect-based Decks, due to their low power levels.
