Name-Inverted Spiritualist is a series of Spellcaster monsters based on historical East Asian religious figures and figures associated with religion and spiritualism.
Design[edit]
All members of this series are Level 3 or 4 Spellcaster monsters based on historical figures from East Asia, typically associated with Buddhism but also Onmyōdō and Taoism. Their monster names contain reversed versions of their historical counterparts' names, read using Japanese reading. These names are rendered entirely in katakana in the Japanese OCG.
Their OCG monster names typically feature 僧 (sō, "monk") or a combination of 霊 and 術師 (rei and jutsushi, "spirit" and "master").
