Odion is a Duelist Construct of Odion from the Yu-Gi-Oh! series in the Virtual Dueling System. He is also the opponent that the player faced in Stage 3-4 of the Classic Campaign mode in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation. The player has to defeat him in a Duel in order to unlock the next stage and progress Campaign mode.

Appearance[edit]

As a Duelist Construct, his appearance is based on Odion, and the outfit is what he wore during the Battle City arc in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series.

Etymology[edit]

The name "Odion" means "eldest of twins" referring to how Odion is the older brother to Marik Ishtar, and as well as being Marik's twin by sharing a Egyptian ceremonial tattoo on his body that is similar to his younger brother's tattoo.

Rewards[edit]

There are a total of six rewards that the player can earn and received after defeating the Duel Construct in a Duel. The first two rewards are cards that come from the Duel Construct's Deck and the third reward is a recipe for their Deck. Then the fourth, fifth and sixth rewards repeated the same process of the three earlier rewards, but in a harder difficulty with a different Deck. In addition, the sixth reward will allow the player to have the Duel Construct's avatar and the ability to Duel them anytime between the two difficulty.

Deck[edit]

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, Odion plays a Deck that relies on Trap Cards to counter the opponent's card's effect while using his only Trap Monster "Embodiment of Apophis" for a offensive maneuver.

In Duel Generation, the Duelist Construct plays a Deck called Skill Drain which borrow the strategy of using Trap Cards from Odion's Deck for negating effect and offensive approach. This Deck main strategy is to use the card "Skill Drain" which the user have to paid 1000 LP to activate and negate all monster's effect on the field until "Skill Drain" leaves the field. There are many monsters with 2000 or more ATK in this Deck that have a negative effect which can hinder the monster unless "Skill Drain" is on the field to counteract this issue. These monster's negative effect can be arraigned in the following: The first is they have to change their battle position after attacking ("Giant Orc", "Goblin Attack Force", and "Goblin Elite Attack Force"), the second is they destroyed themselves because of what is written in their card texts ("Mystical Beast of Serket", "Scrap Kong", and "Scrap Shark"), the third effect is when the monster attacks, the attacking monster's effect activation can occurred ("Chainsaw Insect", "Dark Elf" and "Panther Warrior"), and lastly, "Flash Assailant" who have the unique effect of losing 400 ATK for each cards in the user's hand.

After the player defeat Odion's Skill Drain Deck three times, the next difficulty and Deck is unlocked. This Deck features the cards from the "Hieratic" archetype which Odion didn't used in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series.

The Hieratic Dragon Deck focuses on using the "Hieratic" archetype along with the Dragon Normal Monster to Summon the signature card "Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis". "Heliopolis" is a Rank 8 Xyz Monster who the user can activate its effect once by detaching 1 material to Tribute monsters in the hand or on their field to destroy cards depending on the equal amount of Tributes. There are some "Hieratic" monster whose effect will activate when they are Tributed to allow them to Special Summon a Dragon Normal Monster onto the field from the hand, Deck, or Graveyard with their ATK and DEF becoming 0. Some "Hieratic" monster have the effect that can Tribute 1 other "Hieratic" monster to activate their other effect. These "Hieratic" monster's effect also can be activated from the effect of the "Hieratic Seal" Traps "Banishment" and "Reflection". "Banishment" can Tribute 1 "Hieratic" monster to banish a opponent's card while "Reflection" can Tribute 1 "Hieratic" monster to negate a effect's activation and destroy it. Besides the "Hieratic Seal" Traps, the "Hieratic Seal" Spells can add a "Hieratic" monster from the Deck to the hand ("Convocation") or Special Summon 1 "Hieratic" monster from the hand ("Supremacy"). Both "Hieratic Seal" Spells can be used together, as "Convocation" will adds a "Hieratic" monster, and then "Supremacy" can Special Summoned the added "Hieratic" monster. "Nebthet" or "Su" can both be Special Summoned by Tributing 1 "Hieratic" monster, so "Supremacy" can be used to start the first Special Summon, and then "Nebthet" or "Su" will Tribute that monster to Special Summon themselves, and if the Tribute monster have a effect that can be activated when they are Tributed, the Dragon Normal Monster from the hand, Deck, or Graveyard will be Special Summoned onto the field. From there, if "Su" was on the field and the Dragon Normal Monster was "Wattaildragon", then they can both be used as material for "Hieratic Dragon King of Atum". Once per turn, the effect of "Atum" can be activated when the user detach its material to Special Summon another Dragon monster from the Deck with its ATK and DEF becoming 0, but "Atum" cannot attack this turn after using its effect. The newly Special Summon Dragon can continue this combo by being used as either a Tribute for the effect of a "Hieratic" monster, or material to Special Summon another Xyz Monster.
