"Photon" (光子) is an archetype used by Kite Tenjo in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. Members have existed in the OCG/TCG since Photon Shockwave, but only have support in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. Though almost all members of this archetype have "Photon" in their TCG names, the anime-only support cards for this and the "Photon" archetype list them as separate from one another due to cards like "Lumenize", which belong only to this archetype.
In physics, a photon is an elementary particle, the quantum of light and all other forms of electromagnetic radiation, and the force carrier for the electromagnetic force.
