Raid Duel - The Embodiment of Despair: Meklord Astro Mekanikle is an event in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, based on Aporia's Duels against Team 5D's in episodes 135 to 137 and 141 to 143. It allows the player to unlock Aporia as a playable character.

Event Details[edit]
Challenging Aporia[edit]
Meklord Astro Mekanikle must first spawn in the Event page. This can be done by Dueling in the Duel World (excluding the Gate), or by Dueling in Ranked Duels, which will increase the spawn rate of the Raid Boss, while also rewarding Invitations from Aporia.
After it spawns, the player can challenge it at any time in the Event page. Even if the player does not succeed in defeating Aporia, he can be challenged again by using Traces of Iliaster, until the Meklord Astro's LP reach 0. In Assist Duels, the player does not need to wait for Meklord Astro Mekanikle to spawn.
Meklord Astro Mekanikle can spawn at different Levels, ranging from Level 100 to Level 5000 (but only in multiples of 100). The possible Levels in which Meklord Astro Mekanikle spawns increase as the player accumulates victories against it.
Unlocking Aporia[edit]
From ??? onwards, the player can unlock Aporia as a playable character by defeating the Raid Boss with at least 2,100,000 event points.
Raid Duels[edit]
Duels against Aporia are conducted as Raid Duels. In this mode, Meklord Astro Mekanikle will spawn with a large amount of LP, but if the player does not manage to defeat it, the damage dealt during that Duel will be carried on to the next time it is challenged. Meklord Astro Mekanikle also uses the Skill "I Will Change Fate!", which forcefully ends the Duel in a draw at the start of the opponent's turn from 10th turn onward.
Raid Duels also feature Assist Duels, in which players can help others to defeat Meklord Astro Mekanikle together. Before a player enters an Assist Duel, the damage dealt by other players will be subtracted from Meklord Astro Mekanikle's starting LP. After one of the participant players finishes a Duel in which the total damage dealt by all players is greater than Giant Grinder's original LP, all players who participated are rewarded, and they become available to assist other players (if a player is in the middle of a Duel when that happens, they will only be notified after the Duel ends).
Extra Deck monsters deal triple battle damage to Meklord Astro Mekanikle. In addition, Accel Synchro Monsters and certain other Synchro Monsters (i.e. Synchro Monsters that require Synchro Monsters as Synchro Material) will deal five times more battle damage.

Turbo Duel[edit]
After Dueling against Meklord Astro Mekanikle 5 times, the player can challenge it in a Turbo Duel.
In this mode, both duelists gain Speed Counters (up to a maximum of 12) by meeting the following conditions:
- At the beginning of each Standby Phase: +1 (for both Duelists)
- When the player Normal Summons a monster: +2
- When the player Synchro Summons a monster: +3
- When the player's monster is destroyed: -1
These counters allow the player to activate the EX Skill "Speed Spell – Clear Mind R", while the opponent used "Speed Spell – Acceleration". As an EX Skill, it is in addition to the player's normal Skill.
In addition, another Skill will automatically activate at the beginning of the player's first turn, depending on the Raid Boss's Level:
- Level 100 - 1000: "Take flight!"
- Level 2000+: "The Power of Hope!"

Damage Rank[edit]
The player will be assigned a Damage Rank based on the highest damage they dealt to Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder. The possible ranks are C, B, A, and S. The minimum amount of damage necessary to achieve each rank is updated hourly, and changes based on the tally. The exact method of calculating this value is unknown.-->
