Ramen Hut Owner

The owner of the Ramen Hut is an unnamed character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime. He is the owner and cook at the Ramen Hut.

Design[edit]

Appearance[edit]

The shopkeeper is an old man with an unkempt appearance due to his dismal circumstances when he is introduced. He is slightly unshaven and has ragged dark grey hair and small grey eyes, and wears a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a tan collar, brown pants, tall black boots, and a chef's hat, with a red dishcloth around his neck and grey wristbands. When the shock of his store likely closing gets to him, he jams naruto slices into his eyes. Following his rediscovery of his passion, his eyes return to their normal size.

Personality[edit]

When the shopkeeper falls on hard times, he acts in a manner similar to a zombie and madly begs the kids to order a final bowl of ramen from him so he can close his store. Once said bowl is ordered, the shopkeeper cooks the ramen extremely intensely. After seeing Yuga Ohdo and Saburamen's Rush Duel however, the shopkeeper becomes inspired to continue to making ramen in an energetic manner.

Biography[edit]

History[edit]

The shopkeeper once had a customer who had forgotten his wallet, who instead paid him by giving him a sheet of paper inscribed with the legend of the King of Duels, which the shopkeeper pinned to his autograph board.[2]

Birth of Rush Duels[edit]

The shopkeeper jams naruto slices into his eyes out of shock.

Although the shopkeeper enjoyed a well-known business at the Ramen Hut, the opening of a new A.I. restaurant, GastroByte, drew most of his customers away, and he fell on hard times, eventually deciding to close his business. He remained at Ramen Hut on the final day, hoping for a customer to make a final bowl of ramen for. Yuga Ohdo, Gavin Sogetsu and Romin Kassidy heard about Ramen Hut's impending closure and found the shopkeeper huddled in a corner. He begged them to order a final bowl from him, but his zombie-like mannerisms scared them off. They returned later, having sent their modified Goha Enterprises Drone Kaizo into GastroByte to learn its secrets, each revelation driving the shopkeeper further into despair until he eventually jammed naruto slices into his eyes. Saburamen then arrived and ordered a bowl of ramen, unaware that it would be the last the shopkeeper made, and the shopkeeper began making the ramen while Saburamen Rush Dueled Yuga over who got the last bowl. As he made the ramen, he became inspired by their Dueling, desiring to make ramen that was also more fun, tastier and faster than before. He finished the bowl as the Duel concluded in Yuga's victory, and the naruto slices fell from his eyes into the bowl. Luke, who had arrived during the Duel, helped himself to the bowl, but though everyone else was horrified, the shopkeeper revealed that he would continue making ramen due to the inspiration the Duel had given him, and he offered to make more ramen for everyone.[3]

Following the Duel, the Ramen Hut received a steady influx of customers due to Saburamen's contacts spreading news of it around. The shopkeeper was aided in his frantic serving of Rush Ramen by Kaizo.[3]

Maximum[edit]

One day Saburamen was eating ramen at the Ramen Hut when Luke came to him and the owner and asked if they knew anything about Maximum Summoning, though the shopkeeper had never heard of it before.[4]

Team Battle Royal[edit]

The Ramen Hut received a reservation for sixty-six people around the time of Princess G's firing; the Goha Enterprises employees known as Goha 66. Their leader gave them an impassioned speech about their impending retirement and his desire for them to create final fireworks to ensure they were not simply remembered as faceless employees, a desire that the shopkeeper sympathized with given that he was the same age as them, and he served them free gyazo.[2]

The shopkeeper received regular patronage from Yuga, Roa Kassidy and Nail Saionji during the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal, as well as Luke, Romin and Gavin.[5] On the second day of the tournament, Yuga, Roa and Nail returned to Ramen Hut to order, but noticed the legend of the King of Duels on the celebrity autograph board and asked the shopkeeper about it, but the shopkeeper was busy laughing at a comedy routine on his phone.[2][6] After he calmed down, he told Roa, Yuga and Nail the history behind the legend ending up in his shop, but they didn't believe him and asked him if he was hiding anything else, intimidating him into revealing what he knew about Goha 66.[2]
