Kitamori, Reiko |
Reiko Kitamori (北森玲子, Kitamori Reiko) is a character in Yu-Gi-Oh! R, and is the tenth Card Professor encountered by Yugi and his friends.
Design[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Reiko is a slim girl with her shoulder-length hair held out of her eyes with a clip and a small set of glasses on her nose. She dresses very smartly; wearing a black vest over a crisp white shirt with a tie, a pleated skirt, and light heeled boots. She carries a KaibaCorp Duel Disk on her left arm.
Personality[edit]
Reiko is shown to have a very polite and innocent personality, being polite for an enemy. During the Duel, she even shows signs of developing a crush on Jonouchi. She is extremely timid, and is shown to be afraid of Duelists, but she gets over this fear during her Duel with Jonouchi.
Etymology[edit]
Kitamori means "northwood" in Japanese and is the codename for the 130nm version Intel's Pentium 4 microprocessor.
Biography[edit]
Reiko began playing Duel Monsters a month before the series, and she quickly became a Card professor due to her skills. She was reluctant to take place in the takeover of KaibaCorp, but the other Card professors insisted that she participate, and she was told to guard a dead-end block to stall for time.
She is encountered by Jonouchi and Honda, who had been searching for her, while she herself is apparently buying snacks from a vending machine. Apparently stricken with fear, she runs off, leaving Jonouchi and Honda to give chase. After failing to make it to the elevator in time, she reveals that she's afraid of Duelists, and that her companions told her to guard her block as a last resort, but regardless, says she'll do her best, refusing to simply hand them the key to the next block.
After the Duel starts, she reveals that she only began playing Duel Monsters about a month ago, shocking Jonouchi greatly, who is shocked at her level of skill, even complimenting her several times. After figuring out her strategy, Jonouchi asks her if she enjoys Dueling, claiming that a Duel without attacks is no fun. This causes her to change her strategy, also leading to her defeat.
After she loses, she admits that she did not have an actual Key Card, and was simply a 'throw-away pawn' to stall for time, signifying she had a rather low standing amongst her peers. After Yako's defeat, Reiko was seen wheeling Maico Kato's wheelchair, and Yugi and his friends waved to them.
Deck[edit]
Reiko plays a Puppet Chess Deck, which uses "Battlefield Tragedy" to mill. It is capable of quickly depleting the opponent's Deck.
