Ridley

Ridley, known as Ryujiro Mizunuma (水（みず）沼（ぬま） 龍（りゅう）二（じ）郎（ろう）, Mizunuma Ryūjirō) in the Japanese version, is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. He hangs around with his brother Taz's gang in Theodore Hamilton's hometown.

Design

Appearance

Ridley is a skinny young man with small eyes, glasses, and green hair. Unlike his brother and the rest of the gang, Ryujiro dresses more smartly in a grey jacket, pants, and a white shirt with a loose red tie.

Personality

Ridley is cowardly and deceitful, claiming that he likes to avoid violence, but lying to his brother to get revenge on Theodore for simply intimidating him. He is also shown to be somewhat envious of Playmaker's popularity.

Biography

History

Ridley had previously competed in a National Duel tournament.

Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS

Ridley, his older brother, Taz and three others harassed a student in a shopping district. They were stopped by Theodore Hamilton. Ryujiroidley urged his brother to just beat Theodore up, but Taz cited that he had dangerous eyes and the group fled. Later, Ridley spoke about LINK VRAINS and Playmaker to one of the other gang members. He was interrogated by Theodore, who was looking for information on those topics. Taz intervened and Theodore left. Taz vowed to make Theodore pay, but Ridley's interaction with Theodore had given him an idea.

The group kidnapped Kiku Kamishirakawa, and sent her friend, Hana to get Theodore. When Theodore appeared, they released Kiku after Theodore agreed to Duel Ridley, with the wager that Theodore would become their minion if he lost. Ridley built up a strong defense, and though his monsters were destroyed by Theodore, he avoided taking damage and proceeded to Summon "Despair from the Dark". Theodore was reduced to a shivering mess as Ridley destroyed his monsters, but suddenly gained a burst of resolve due to the encouragements of his A.I. and revived his "Phoenix Gearfried", then combined it with "Tempest Fire" to destroy "Despair from the Dark" and defeat Ridley.

Ridley plays a Zombie Deck, focused on continually Summoning and reviving his monsters to generate card advantage.
