Players on the same team share the same field and Life Points but have separate hands, Decks, Extra Decks, and Skills.
Players have knowledge of any face-down cards on their side of the field regardless of their owner.
Automatically activated Skills activate when they meet their activation conditions regardless of which player of the team is currently active.
The Battle Phase cannot be conducted on Turn 1, but can be on subsequent turns.
Players and teams alternate turns; Player 1 of Team A moves, then Player 1 of Team B, then Player 2 of Team A, then Player 2 of Team B, then back to Player 1 of Team A, etc.
During a team's turn, on the opposing team the last player to take their turn is the active player (so they are the player that handles the activation of cards and effects during that turn). During Turn 1, the player of the opposing team who will not move until Turn 4 is the active player.
The human player will move on Turn 1 if their team goes first, or on Turn 4 if their team goes second. This is because the human player is always the active player of their team during Turn 1.
The event is divided in four Cups: DM Cup, 5D's Cup, GX Cup, and Special Cup. The GX Cup was made available on April 15, 2020, while the Special Cup was added on April 17, 2020. Each cup must be cleared before moving to the next, and completed cups can be replayed at any time. For the first three cups, only partners from its respective Duel World can be picked.

During this event, the player earns Friendship Letters by Dueling in Duel World (except at the Gate or against The Vagrant) or Ranked Duels. These can be used to challenge opponents in the tournament.
At the end of each Duel, the player earns 1 Tag Coin for each 100 Assessment Points (for a maximum of 80 Tag Coins). A multiplier is applied after the 80 coin cap, depending on the difficulty of the Tournament.
The Card Trader EX appears during this event and remained open until one week after its conclusion. The player can trade their EX Jewels for cards, Booster Items, Gold, and Skill Chips. Each card and Booster Item can only be obtained once from the Card Trader EX during this event, but the Gold can be obtained any number of times.
Skill: Earth-Shattering Power (If your Life Points are at 2000 or below, play 1 "Red Dragon Archfiend" from outside of the Deck at the beginning of your turn. This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
Skill: Security Enforcement (At the beginning of your turn, play 1 "Gate Blocker" in Defense Position from outside of your Deck. You cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters this turn. This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
Skill: Destiny Calling (If your Life Points are at 3000 or below, activate "Dark City" at the beginning of your turn.If you have a Field Spell Card on your field, return it to your hand.This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
Skill: Decisive Crystal Beasts (If your Life Points are at 3000 or below, from turn 6 onward, play as many "Crystal Beast" monsters as you can from your Spell/Trap Zone as well as your Graveyard at the beginning of your turn.This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
Skill: Where the Heroes Dwell (If your Life Points are at 3000 or below, activate "Skyscraper" at the beginning of your turn.If you have a Field Spell Card on your field, return it to your hand.This Skill will only activate only once per Duel.)
Skill: Miracle Hero (If your Life Points are at 2000 or below, play 1 "Elemental HERO Shining Flare Wingman" from outside of the Deck at the beginning of your turn.This Skill can only be used once per Duel.)
Skill: Destruction and Creation (If your Life Points are at 2000 or below, play 1 "Armed Dragon Catapult Cannon" from outside of the Deck at the beginning of your turn. This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
Skill: Solar Divinity (From the beginning of your 6th turn onward, play 1 "The Winged Dragon of Ra" with 4000 ATK from outside of your Deck. Its effects are negated. This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
Skill: Ultimate Arcana (When you toss a coin, the result will always be heads. In addition, at the beginning of your turn from turn 6 onward, play 1 "Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler" from outside your Deck. This Skill will only activate once per Duel.)
