Can it be special summoned from the deck or graveyard using it's effect?

- It can only be Summoned from your hand, by Tributing "Dark Magician" and It cannot be revived from the Graveyard afterwards using cards like "Monster Reborn". -- Deltaneos (talk)
wait isn't it the same as other cards, i mean as long as the conditions are met you should be able to get it, such using monster reborn and tribute dark magician that's on the field, that combo should work or using rope of life while you have a dark magician on the field to tribute as long as your using dark magician during a tribute it should work
NO YOU CANNOT! Monsters that say "This card cannot be Special Summoned except" can only be Special Summoned from the hand unless stated on the card effect that it can be summoned anywhere else. Also these kind of Monsters CANNOT be Special Summoned by other card effects because these types of monsters MUST be Special Summoned the way the card text says.
No to the deck. Yes to the graveyard, but like you say, only if prior conditions were met.
