Archetype?[edit]

How can this be considered an archetype when there is only 1 monster? — This unsigned comment was made by 2.126.180.53 (talkcontribs)

There is an implied suggestion that this may be an Archetype as "Houseduston" reads: "Special Summon any number of "Duston" monsters". This implies that there is more than one card in the Archetype. Especially as "Houseduston" features more than one 'creature' on the artwork of the card. --SuperSponge!! 10:20, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
This doesnt even meet the standard set in the guidelines for an Archetype in the first place. The effect can imply there are more cards all it likes, that doesnt change the fact that its just one card. I'd put the deletion template up myself if I didnt think I would get overruled on the spot about it. Axel Shiokawa (talkcontribs) 19:35, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
It follows the guidelines for archetypes perfectly. An archetype can have any number of members, in this case, there is only one. And that's fine. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 20:16, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
As Golden Key says, as long as there's support, there's an archetype. This is the way Konami themselves view archetypes, if you look at archetype-related rulings, and it's the only sane way to handle it here (since otherwise we have to judge what constitutes "good enough" for an archetype). This archetype isn't even the worst example; if I remember correctly, there's at least one manga-only archetype which has no members, if we take a completely literal reading of its support card's effect!
Other than that, if you have any questions about our handling of archetypes, or you feel we don't do something in regards to them correctly, please ask and I'll try my best to explain things to you. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:50, September 23, 2012 (UTC)
Yokai might be the manga-only archetype you're thinking of, Dinoguy. Though we're still trying to figure out what to classify it as, certain cards imply it supports monsters with "Yokai" in their names, of which there are none. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:55, September 23, 2012 (UTC)
Yokai is another issue altogether. I think he's talking about either "Mantis" or "Kamakiri" due to "Mantis Egg". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:38, September 23, 2012 (UTC)
It's probably one of those three, though I wouldn't be surprised if there were at least one or two others (especially from DM) that would also fit the bill. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:16, September 24, 2012 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

If the new "duston" monsters follow the stats/effects of "Houseduston", I think it should be added a Trivia of how they look like the Ojamas: Low Level, LIGHT, ATK 0, DEF 1000, different colors, summoning monsters to the opponent's field (and probably preventing them from being Tributed or used as Materials). Let's wait to see the new members. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 16:32, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Green Duston[edit]

Green Duston appears to be missing from the archetype quicklink box. 87.112.173.188 (talk) 16:07, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. It's there, now. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:24, February 13, 2013 (UTC)
These "Duston"s still belong in "Template: Six Attributes". The only ones are Left is Water and Dark. they will come out with Water so even if Dark won't be there, ths still belongs in Six Attributes "Template: Six Attributes". When will we put it there?--Wasn't 02:48, April 15, 2013 (UTC)
