Do we actually have proof that the Crystal Beasts are considered "Gem"? This is in reference to the effect of Gemknight Rubys in which you can tribute a "Gem" Monster.Altyrell 17:39, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Very late response, but I would think that this archteype should include all "Crystal Beast" cards and their support, as their OCG name is "Gem Beast?". Crystal Beasts would be a subarchetype of the Gem archetype. Cheesedude 19:54, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

This page is completely unnecessary. Gemknights and Crystal Beasts are completely unrelated. Can we please get rid of this page?--Rayjayjay (talkcontribs) 17:36, July 12, 2011 (UTC)

Gem-Knight Ruby says "Gem-" monsters.
Also, in WC11, if you look at Gem-Knight Ruby's related cards ("Gem" cards), it includes Crystal Counter and Gem Flash Energy; as both contain ジェム in their names.
The Crystal Beasts do not contain ジェム in their names, so those are not "Gem" cards. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 03:12, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Name[edit]

Gem-Knight Iolite and Gem-Knight Ruby say "Gem-" monsters. As they're the two newer ones, it looks like that's what the proper name for this archetype should be. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:27, May 27, 2012 (UTC)

Ruby yes, but Iolite no - I went and checked, Iolite still said "Gem-Knight". --iFredCat 19:01, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
Read the part before that, Fred. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 19:09, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
Ah ok, banish 1 "Gem-" Monster to do whatever on "Gem-Knight". Gotcha. --iFredCat 19:31, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
Is the Archetype considered 'Gem'. I always thought the Archetype was considered 'Gem-Knight'? I still feel they are too easily confused with the Crystal Beasts. --Spongebob456 (talkcontribs) 20:34, June 3, 2012 (UTC)
Both are archetypes. Several of the Gem-Knights specifically word their effects as supporting "Gem-", which encompasses the "Gem-Knights" and cards like "Gem-Merchant". And they really have nothing to do with the "Crystal Beasts" at all. Their only connection is the word "gem", but the Japanese text is different. Several "Crystal Beast" support cards are technically "Gem-" cards, though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:53, June 3, 2012 (UTC)
