Not overpowered[edit]

Good news, GBs won't get anything broken. I don't think that Retiari could stop Malicious or Zombies, it's too slow. ^^ All GB players should be disappointed, but hey, ban list haven't touched 'em at all. (Kirikami 17:33, 26 October 2008 (UTC))

  • Retiari may not seem like much at first, but I think it may be a great card for GB Decks. While it can’t stop Malicious or Monster Reborn like D.D. Crow can, it dose have other uses. It can be used to slow zombie and Lightsworn decks, then contact fusion with others. Probably its best use is stardust dragon. Bring out murmillo to try and destroy a card, stardust counters by tributing, then remove stardust with Retiari. Probably other uses I still havn’t though of too, so might be worth getting at least 1 for GB decks. Bio 18:37, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
  • But it's not easy to have two monsters on the field + Chariot can do pretty the same (but it's not easy to have even ONE monster on the field). And yes, it can help against LSs and Zombies also it have synergy with GBs, but Crow is one more target for CCV (overrated card) and is damn good. Having one in deck won't hurt though (I guess) ^^ (Kirikami 20:01, 26 October 2008 (UTC))
  • Well, there's a Gladiator Beast for destroying Spell and Traps, for destroying monsters, now there's something that can destroy his Graveyard Resources. It's nothing totally gamebreaking but this could be very, very useful. Speedball 21:28, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Always gonna be useful[edit]

I'm after a Retiari at the moment, simply because a: i don't have one but more importantly b: i think he'll always be useful. I get moments where I'm trying to get Heraklinos, I've just whipped out Gyzarus and cleared the field, so I send him back in, get Laquari, I've already got my only Darius on the field so I can't use his effect so I end up getting out something like Samnite, simply because the other monsters won't have any effect (either that or Murmillo will destroy one of my monsters). This is where Retiari would be really useful, as then, whether or not my opponent has a useful card that they can recover from the graveyard, you can still remove from play a card, which you never know might be used again later. It's especially useful of course against Lightsworns, Zombies and a DAD deck, but it means you're not getting a monster out for the sake of it, you're still getting some sort of useful effect.
