Portuguese Edition[edit]

I'm seeing several card pages listing IOC-PT. Older Portuguese images can be hard to find, so does anyone know if there is a Portuguese version of this set or not? --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 15:31, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

There was no release in PT before 2023. PT was first released with 25th Anniversary.--GhezziTCG 20:43, June 14, 2023 (UTC)
The 25th Anniversary release has a separate page, at Invasion of Chaos (25th Anniversary Edition), and release details particular to it should be (and are) documented there. ディノ千?!☎ Dinoguy1000 03:21, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
Do you not want to list it under Unlimited Edition, similar to "Spell" variants in PSV and other sets? Asking the same question about the "EN" release from FOTB SE.--GhezziTCG 9:43, June 16, 2023 (UTC)
Not having spent that much time thinking about it, honestly I'm leaning a bit towards starting to split out reprints of sets, where those reprints are distinguishable, yeah. In this particular case, though, we made the decision to split these to separate pages because of how they're being marketed and also because they all have their own database IDs. ディノ千?!☎ Dinoguy1000 15:14, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

Worldwide Release[edit]

Gents, I know that there is some contention with labeling IOC's first release as a Worldwide release and removing the other dates for its release. IOC's release was done across two specific IPC series. There is a North American series connected to four boxes (hobby/retail/1st Edition/Unlimited Edition) and a European IOC series connected to a 1st Ed Hobby and Unlimited Retail release. These two series are separated by hundreds of IPCs as well as additional AST and SOD releases. It runs IOC>AST>SOD>Euro IOC>Euro AST>Euro SOD>RDS, which is unique for this series as IPCs always progress in a linear fashion and never repeat (except in rare cases like this). It should be IOC>AST>SOD>RDS and it isn't. Additionally, the UPCs for the European cases and boxes are exclusively European in production. This can be seen in the first half of the UPC. The first half for the NA release is 53334 (UDE's company code) and the European UCP is 042323 (Europe's printer). This makes IOC the first set produced with an intent to involve European English speakers in the distribution process separate from North American English speakers. This is the entire meaning behind the term "Worldwide English" - the consolidation of all English regions of release into a single release. This has very little to do with "EN" and should not be seen as the reason "EN" was introduced. It is a fact that "EN" was introduced, but it was not necessary for the creation of a "Worldwide English" release. --GhezziTCG 20:43, June 14, 2023 (UTC)
