Name[edit]

Just a suggestion, should the article really be called "Gradius Games?" They're not all Gradius. Several are from completely different games and I'm not just talking about Parodius.

Blue Thunder, Deltatri and Trigon in particular come to mind as not being anywhere related to Gradius. Maybe calling it "Konami Shooter Games." Is the incorrect really being allowed just for simplicity? ShinobiPhoenix 23:15, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

You are correct that the article doesn't fit, but these decks (and the article) were made before the inclusion of non-Gradius "characters". You happen to be the first that noticed that the new cards require another name change. DemonGodAsura 01:17, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with that the name of the article is misleading. Trigon comes from the Arcade game Trigon (or Lightning Force or something like that in America.) Trigon really has nothing to do with Gradius due to the fact that it's from it's own game. Also, there should be more info included about Flint Lock and Flint in here since they to come from one of Konami's games, name XexeX. I'm not really sure which game Blue Thunder came from though... • Blue Thunder comes from the game "Thunder Cross", though the name of the card is changed from the name of the actual unit. Possibly if they wanted, we could get a "Red Thunder" card because of the 2P ship having a different name and powers. DeltaTri and Trigon both come from the same game (albeit a different name in America). The Parodius (especially the "Itsu") monsters are all obviously a different game from Gradius even if it is literally a parody of Gradius. ShinobiPhoenix 15:40, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

Fossil Excavation[edit]

So how is Fossil Excavation related to these?

  • You do realize those are the "Itsu" monsters on there right? On top of the fact they form the A-Team: Trap Disposal Unit, they themselves are a aforementioned (only slightly up the page from your very statement) cameo from the Parodius games. ShinobiPhoenix (talkcontribs) 03:48, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Why is it called Konami arcade games when it only mentions one genre of their arcade games, Gradius games was more appropriate.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 05:49, March 4, 2011 (UTC)

Merge[edit]

Do we really need both this page and this page? Also, why are the B.E.S monsters not in the navbox? They're from the games...and the "Itsu" monsters. Hell, and "Tactical Espionage Expert". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:17, March 17, 2012 (UTC)

This is a series, B.E.S. is an archetype, so if they were merged the page would still need to be split in two sections. I'm in favor of having two pages, but with a See also: B.E.S. here. There should be an extended navbox, though, like what HERO has. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 12:04, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't suggesting we merge B.E.S, just that all B.E.S. monsters should also be listed as Konami Arcade Games. I actually really hate that navbox in HERO though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:53, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
Ah. Well in that case, I agree wholeheartedly about merging Cards based on Konami video games into this page and adding B.E.S. monsters to the listing. I personally hate the Gradius-themed Cards box; it's too long/there's too much space between each line. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 15:07, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that navbox is even worse than the HERO one. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 15:11, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

Navbox additions[edit]

Flint and Blue Thunder T-45 should probably be added to the Konami Arcade Games archetype navbox. Moai Interceptor Cannon and The Statue of Easter Island might also warrant addition, but those two might be a little more vague since they're based on real things and not just the games. Also, the other B.E.S. cards should be added into the "related" section, since they're based on the same games. Template:Subst

I've done some general cleanup on the navbox. For one, Power Capsules and Options are completely different game constructs, so I broke that into two cells. Sorry that there's no real way to link to an external article on "Power Capsules" though. Also, unless someone can come up with a really convincing reason, Gaia Soul The Combustible Collective is in no way related to Gradius or Konami arcade games. So far it seems like the only reference provided for potential relevance is a link to a fangame that has one fire based "Golem" boss. Next someone will be passing off that red amoeba card as Zelos. Other games[edit]

What happened to the cards based on Castlevania, Mystical Ninja, Getsu Fuhma Den, Scribblenauts and possibly others I don't remember? Shouldn't they be here with the others? --Ryu Ogami (talkcontribs) 02:04, April 11, 2016 (UTC)

They're not "arcade" games. The Konami stuff needs revamping eventually. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:50, April 11, 2016 (UTC)
