Reason for the Drastic Change in Effect

There was no reason whatsoever for the previous effect of "Kuriba", which said "You can discard 1 Trap Card to have 1 face-up monster your opponent controls lose 300 ATK." This is merely a poorer version of the effect of "Kuribu". That being said, there is no reason for the "This card cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon". However, tactically, it does make sense for a person designing the card. Also, the source where I got the derived text from seems reliable, so I suggest going forward with it.
