I BEG TO DIFFER! The official rule book says that "You can only have up to 3 copies of the same card in your Deck." However, Harpie Lady #1, 2, 3, Cyber Harpie Lady cards all say "This card's name is treated as "Harpie Lady"" Therefore, the card itself is not a copy of the same card as another Harpie card. In addition, the rule book also says: "Rules vs Card Effects: If there is a discrepancy between basic rules and a card's effect, the card's effect takes precedence." However, Harpie's effect does not go up against the rules and since there is no other rule that goes against you putting more than 3 cards that have the same name in a deck, I think it is possible to have up to 3 Harpie Lady 1 cards and 3 Cyber Harpie Lady cards in one deck. And anyways, harpies should be able to get together in one big flock inside a deck. :)

  • The name of "Harpie Lady 1", "Harpie Lady 2", and "Harpie Lady 3" is treated as "Harpie Lady" for all purposes, including Deck construction. So you can have 2 copies of "Harpie Lady 1" in your Deck and 1 copy of "Harpie Lady 2", but not 2 copies of each because you would have 4 cards in your Deck treated as "Harpie Lady". This restriction also applies to your Side Deck, so if you have 3 monsters treated as "Harpie Lady" in your Deck, you cannot have any in your Side Deck. (Source). Hey, am I allowed to have the following legally in my deck: 3 copies of "Yubel", 1 copy of "Yubel - Terror Incarnate", and 1 copy of "Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare"? Having 5 is obviously key to my deck, I just wanna confirm.

Ok I have a question. I have the Hieratic Dragon of Nuit and the Hieratic Dragon of Eset, does any of the examples of the 3 card rule apply to them since they are both Hiertic Dragon's? I also have Jenis, Lightsworn Mender, Jain Lightsworn Paladin, and Gragonith, Lightsworn Dragon, does the 3 card rule apply to them since they are Lightsworns? what about Evoltile Pleuro, Evoltile Gephyro, and Evoltile Odonto? I know that these might be dumb questions but I just started collecting the cards and learning the game so bare with me, lol! If anyone could help me I would be very greatful! :) --DashingErwyne17 (talkcontribs) 04:01, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

All good, whilst they share part of the name (that being the name of the archetype in this case Hieratic) it only applies when either the entire name is the same or when like in the case of those Harpie Ladies it specifically says the name is to be treated as the same - another example would be you can have up to 3 copies of Umi but then you wouldn't be able to use even 1 A Legendary Ocean or Lemuria, the Forgotten City, but you could have any combination of those 3 cards providing they don't exceed 3, so 1 of each, 2 of 1 and 1 of the other 2 or just 3 of one :) however you could use 3 of Forgotten Temple of the Deep as it's name is only treated as "Umi" whilst on the field
So yes you could have a deck of:
Hope that helps clear things up a bit --slave(commandworks) 04:15, December 15, 2013 (UTC)
