Lore

It seems the current lore is incorrect. See this comment [1]. Should we change "Inflict damage" to "You can inflict damage"? -- The Goblin  Talk  21:23, February 13, 2012 (UTC)

Not sure. If that was the case, it would have been written that way in the Japanese lore. It's possible the translator made a mistake, but I think it's equally probable that ZEXAL itself did. I'll see if I can find any info on it. Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 00:11, February 14, 2012 (UTC)

When dialogue is unclear, we defer to what the card actually says. Every translator I know of has said that it does not say "you can". Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 02:31, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

It's optional in the ANIME.

It's very likely that the official OCG/TCG effect has ot that it always inflicts damage when a "Photon" monster is summoned. The card text lots of editors have bene editing though, is the anime effect. The anime effect is obviously optional, otherwise III and IV would've been damaged, and Yuma would've lost all of his Life Points when kaito summoned Photon Kaiser.
