Spell Absorbtion destroyed by and Spell Card effect...

• I'm not too much of an expert on this, but I believe Spell Absorption's effect does not activate when destroyed by those cards. I'll give an example to simplify this. First, De-Spell is activated and destroys Spell Absorption. Spell Absorption tries to activate its effect, but it is no longer on the field when it resolves. Because it's a continuous spell, it needs to stay on the field in order to activate. Since no longer on the field, it cannot activate and you do not gain 500 LP. I hope that was simple enough. Well, I was think on that too... Thats why my asking about. The effect of the card says that after it resolves I will gain the 500 points... Its needs more opinions to see more about...:) --Koryuseness 17:22, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Spell Absorption's effect is "When a Spell Card is activated..." so you gain 500 Life Points even when your opponent plays a card like De-Spell and Heavy Storm because they are being activated right before their effects take place.

continuous spell cards

if you have a continuous spell card on the field, such as "Mask of Dispel", does the effect of spell absorption reapply every time someone takes damage from mask of dispel because the spell card is "activating" every time it applies damage?
