Seven Samurai[edit]

The movie just recently aired on TCM about a month ago and I found a quote in it that seemed similar to the Six Samurai effect? Is that important information at all? Dmaster (Talk Contribs Count) 06:36, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Redundant Tips[edit]

I think that whole section about archetype cards should be removed. It's redundant with the "Card Tips" page for individual cards. We can list optional support cards that do not belong to the Six Samurai archetype, though. What do you think? Speedball 00:07, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

Does "Spirit of the Six Samurai" count as a "Six Samurai"? I got defeated because my opponent attached "Spirit of the Six Samurai" with "The Six Samurai - Yariza" and defeated me with 650 life points left. He had no monsters on his field but those two. Can he do that? Answer Below Please... | | V -

Symbol[edit]

We should probably add a picture of the Six Samurai's symbol to the article. You know, the one in the background of a good amount of their cards Example: Six Samurai United. Armageddon 19:27, October 24, 2009 (UTC)

Gateway of the Six[edit]

Neat card, eh? Nice to see Bushido Counters getting more use. But what concerns me is the mention of "Shien" monsters, and besides the Shogun there's one other - Tenkabito Shien. Do you think Tenkabito deserves a place in the related category of the Six Samurai template? Runer5h 23:40, October 28, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

I don't think Tenkabito Shien is part of the Six Samurai set, however there is also Shien's Footsoldier and Enishi, Shien's Chancellor and they may release more in the future. --82.71.41.74 04:32, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
However, he does benefit from the effect Gateway of the Six. That should count for something. NoCards 05:42, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
I think it diserves a place in the related categories as much as "Swallow Flip" does so basically - YES. I'd done it myself but i don't know if Navigation Boxes are editable. --Fuel Synchron 21:36, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Major Flaw[edit]

Has anyone noticed the large flaw in the strategy of this deck? If someone uses Skill Drain you've basically had it. --82.71.41.74 13:15, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

Yes... Six Samurai tend to side in massive S/T removal just for that. In any case, Gateway of the Six is just an amazing card for The Six Samurai - you've heard of the loop with Hand of the Six Samurai and 2 Gateways?
  1. Activate the Gateways.
  2. Summon Hand - you now have 4 counters.
  3. Remove those counters and search Grandmaster.
  4. Special summon Grandmaster - you now have 4 counters.
  5. Tribute Grandmaster by Hand's effect and destroy one of your opponent's cards.
  6. Remove those counters and return Grandmaster from your grave to your hand.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 until your opponent has no field.
Awesome, eh? Now the Six Samurai have FIELD CLEARING. Runer5h 16:14, December 28, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
Try using "mass driver" instead of hand. Spoilers: its better than field clearing.
Actually, Kamon serves as an awesome, and yet unexpected counter for skill drain!

This is how you do it. 1.Have Book of Moon in Hand (Setting it doesn't allow you to activate it in the same turn) 2.Summon Kamon 3.Declare its effect as soon as you summon him: Destroy Skill Drain! 4.Chain Book of Moon to Kamon's effect.

This is how the chain goes: 1.Kamon: destroy skill drain 2.Skill Drain: negate Kamon's effect -> negates Kamon, making him useless this would be what happens usually.

But with the Book of Moon in play..., 1.Kamon: destroy skill drain -> YAY!!! It activates!! 2.Skill Drain:negate Kamon's effect -> negated, because Kamon is now face-down monster, so it does not apply!!! 3.Book of Moon: flip Kamon face-down

Also Enemy Controller can work similarly 1.Kamon:destroy Skill Drain 2.Skill Drain:negate Kamon -> does not work, because Kamon is now in graveyard, and it has to be in the field to get negated. 3.Enemy Controller: tribute Kamon, take 1 monster (probably Barbaros or Fusilier Dragon)

Another one can be The Cunning of the Six Samurai. (It really works like its name, doesn't it?) Since the Cunning of the Six Samurai destroys your Kamon, these are the chain blocks made 1. Kamon: destroy skill drain 2. Skill Drain: negate Kamon -> Kamon does not exist -> negated! 3. The Cunning of the Six Samurai: destroys Kamon, gets a new Samurai on the field

The best thing about this combo is that you are going to have 1 more samurai after destroying skill drain, so you will be able to use its effect.

With those three cards, Six Samurai can take on Skill Drain decks!

Swiftstrike Armor[edit]

I think that this should have mention on the main page. It allows you to special summon ANY Six Samurai monster you draw, allowing you to swarm them more efficently. It also comes with the bonus of not requiring life points to use.

Does the Grand Master Of The Six Samurai, Hand of the Six Samurai and Spirit of the Six Samurai trigger the effect of the original Six Samurai?

Why yes sire they do :D as long as they have "six samurai" in it's name, then the effect of the original six (or any of the ones that say that you require another six samurai monster to blah blah" then the effect activates as long as the other monster remains face up on the field. Also don't forget that the original six need a six samurai monster with a different name to trigger their effects

Warrior Returning Alive and Maurading Cap[edit]

Why do people not add those cards to six sam decks? The captain can let u summon twice a turn allowing u to get samurai out faster along with the supporting affect of only attack target being the cap. The warrior returning alive could bring grandmaster to ur hand for a special summon. IS their anything bad with that?

Having anything other than "G.S.Shien in a 6'S Deck could mess up the whole gameplay. It's vital for gaining Bushido Counters to have as much 6'S as possible. I tried Marauding Captain,Double Summon, even Ultimate Offering (that turn-out to work quite well for a while). All of them can be pretty usefull as well as a "dead" draw in a pinch!... Strategies[edit]

Some strategies I have found. Inferno Reckless Summon= givin the rules of this card you can special summon up to 4 more cards to the field in one turn when one is special summoned to the field from the grave, lets see how many six sams can do that.... like 9 so inferno is a good bonus for any deck

Chthonian Alliance= The atk of the eqipted goes up by 800 for every card with the same name, six sams and shiens are defined in the tournament as the same name. thats 3200 more atk on a shogun5700, with a combo like inferno the chthonian,

Faustian bargain= remove any special summoned monster from the field (including opponents) to summon one 4* from your hand (six sam are all 4*

Discarding from the Hand[edit]

I've also noticed that, in addition to preventing summons, that forcing the opponent to discard cards can be rather detrimental to the Six Samurai strategy, and I was wondering if that was worthy of note on the Weaknesses section of the page. Thoughts? Anonymous --69.106.251.211 (talk) 01:22, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

Shi En vs face up royal oppression[edit]

The page on the six samurai say that Legendary Shi En can negate royal oppressions effects. You can negate it from activating...but if it's already face up, Shi En can no longer negate.... (idk how to tag/sign correctly!) Swimdudeno1 (talkcontribs) 22:44, February 27, 2011 (UTC)swimdueno1

The Six Samurai?[edit]

Should we rename it since most cards are always saying "Six Samurai" without "The"? I don't even know how it was named with a "The". like, why was it even there? LastMinute (talkcontribs) 20:08, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Can't we get this over quickly? LastMinute (talkcontribs) 20:22, July 19, 2011 (UTC)
