I've seperated the effects Ra has in the Manga from in the anime because they differed to much.

I changed "Special Summoned from the Graveyard" to "Has been in the Graveyard" because when Ra was used in GX it was just returned to the hand and normal summoned and was able to use it's hidden abilities.

Also when Magic sacrified monsters to RA using it's hidden ability I didn't see it's DEF going up so I changed it to just ATK. --63.65.45.98 00:02, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

To the guy who keeps replacing Manga with Anime if you'll look the anime effects are above the text you are looking at. If ra has the effects in different seirieses, shouldn't they BOTH be real effects ____________________________________

I re did the spliting the Anime and Manga better the old way was hard to read for some people i also shorten the effects so people would under stand them better

I found out the 2 chants i listed 1 is a fan made the other right now is real but not from the magna it is a translation of what Marik is saying in the Jappaness version of the show

Yes, but this is the key question; We have two chants from the Series, and have no way of 1) Independantly verifying anything that's 'fan made', and 2) Accepting anything done 'on a forum'. ATK and DEF

This part of Ra's alternate lore may be confusing, for it sort of implies that it's ATK is the sum of the 3 tributed monsters' ATK and DEF, and that Ra's DEF is the same number. That part of the lore should at least have the word respectively slipped in, or say; This card's ATK is the sum of the tributed monsters' ATK and it's DEF is the sum of the tributed monsters' DEF. --Dragonking 03:20, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

The alternate lore is incomplete: Control of this card cannot switch. This card is unaffected by the effects of any spell and trap cards that do not designate a target and cannot be targeted by spell or trap card controlled by your opponent. This card is unaffected by the effects of any effect monsters that are level nine or lower. g4-03

I have a Japanese version of this card that was given to me by friend. It has g4-03 on it but it's not secret rare. Does that mean it's fake?

hey, just wondering about one of the cards effects. if my opponent agrees to me using the winged dragon of ra in a duel against him using the effects mentioned in the "appearance" section of the Winged Dragon of Ra, would using "Spell of Pain" after "Point-to-Point Transfer" deal mega damage to my opponent. For example, if i used Point-To-Point Transfer once special summoned and gave 7999 to Ra's ATK, would using Spell of Pain switch the damage to my opponents Life Points instead of mine. If this works and I had another Spell of Pain in my hand could i do the same effect again for a OTK?

Normal or Effect?

Can I just ask if this card is really a Normal Monster or an Effect Monster, I mean, the real card here says a description like the normal cards but in many video games and anime, this card has an effect, so, is this really an effect monster or not? This card is illegal because it does NOT have an effect attached to it. So it will literally be a Att/???? Def/???? monster that can't do anything. Since there is no effect that will boost his attack on his "????" stats, he will become a Att/0 Def/0. --> RyuSenshi 09:45, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Their is an effect monster, but for the anime and the games, the Yu-Gi-Oh! people decided that it would ruin the story if all the god cards had no effects, and then they wouldn't be rare (because they have no effect and be absolutely worthless), and no one would want them (real people, and fake (anime) people ). If Made Into an Effect Monster

If this is ever made into an effect monster like Obelisk the Tormentor, what will its first effect activated by Special Summoning it successfully be? Shonen Jump Promo?

Where did they confirm that the Winged Dragon of Ra was going to be a Shonen Jump card? I checked the list and saw it's name below the effect Obelisk. ra's anime effect

based on what i saw in the anime heres what ive determined for the god card effects,first off what all three have in common

you must tribute 3 monsters to normal summon this card,this card cannot be set,if this card is special summoned from the graveyard it returns to the graveyard at the end of the turn,this card cannot be destroyed by a card effect,as long as this card remains face up on the field controll of this card cannot switch

now for each ones individual card effect

ra this card is unaffected by monster effects,this monster's original atk and def is determined by the sum of the original atk and def of the monsters used as tributes for this card's summoning,during your main phase 1 you can pay 1000 life points to destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field but you must skip your battle phase this turn,you can pay any number of life points to increase this cards original atk by the ammount paid

slifer this card is unaffected by spell cards,this monster's original atk and def is determined by the number of cards in your hand x1000,when your opponent summons a monster decrease that monster's atk by 2000 untill the end of the turn,if the summoned monster's atk is reduced to 0 by this card's effect the monster is destroyed

obelisk this card is unaffected by trap cards,during your main phase 1 you can tribute 2 monsters on your side of the field to destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field,if you use this effect obelisk cannot attack this turn

Ra's Anime lore

Ra's Anime Lore state that The Winged Dragon of Ra's One Turn Kill/Phoenix abilities can be used at anytime but i thought they require Ra to be special summoned to be used?

It would explain the first part of it's second ability according to the Hieratic text: "God shall revive from earth". Also, in the subbed version of ep.97 Kaiba explains that "When a condition of God of Ra is contented, it can destroy all enemies in one round, the life value of the player will become zero in one breath". Kaiba later explains that condition: "As God of Ra is in the graveyard and i have Raise Dead in my cards i can make One Turn Kill then". It would also explain why the Nintendo DS games make it a requirement for Ra to be special summoned to activate those abilities.

Note that I am actually asking, i am not jumping to any conclusions. If i am missing something and am wrong, i would be happy to learn it. --GodPoenix 01:44, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Is Ra an Effect or Normal Monster?

Okay, this is something I want to know.

Eariler tonight my friends and I were engaged into a Fatal four way duel.Every man for himself, and in the middle of it I Summon my Winged Dragon Of Ra and took out one of my friends, my other friend on his next turn activated his set "Ceasefire". Now, what I wanna know is does Ra count as a normal monster or an Effect monster? We were in debate about this for about 20 minutes.And I would like someone to clarify this for me if they could. ╠ŔííŁ3Ŷ ËмP╣ 06:05, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

The inconsistency with this card's effects

While this card was said to be immune to the effects of the two other Gods, Yugi was still able to use "Magnet Force" to redirect the effect of "Slifer the Sky Dragon (original)" towards the three Egyptian Gods. This might have worked because it wasn't a direct target of the effect unlike what was shown in Yami Yugi's Duel with Yami Marik where Slifer clearly used its effect on Ra when it was summoned. Come on people its easy to understand but its pointless talking about the original Winged Dragon of Ra, because you cannot use it in any form of dueling, but you can collect it just for show.

The Winged Dragon of Ra if you remember from the anime doesn't have its effs written on the card.

That is because its the series, so the characters for example 'Yami Marik' already knows the effs of Ra.

Nightmare Troubadour effect

I remember that The Winged Dragon of Ra's effect in Nightmare Troubadour destroyed all monsters on the opponent's field, and that they changed this in the later World Championship games.

Did whoever wrote the entry just assume that it was the same as WCT, or am I crazy here?
