No no no[edit]

There are no 2 "Toy" archetypes, there is one "Toy" archetype. The one "Toy" archetype which we have the article since long ago includes both "Toi" and "Tōi" cards. The "Toy" support Shiun'in uses is the same "Toy" support Yugi and Napoleon use. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:02, May 18, 2014 (UTC)

If there is no 2 "Toy" Archetype, Y make another Toy Archetype that only came out in Arc.V; it makes no sense at all. All Toy/Des-Toy monsters should go to the regular Toy Archetype like "Toy Knight", "Toy Magician", "Toy Pot", etc. is --Wasn't 16:58, June 17, 2014 (UTC).
In the anime, "Toy Pot" went out of its way to list both 「トイ」 and 「トーイ」 in its card effect. They are two separate archetypes. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 17:06, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
Now that "Toy Pot" OCG effect has nothing to do with Toy does that mean Toy Pot will go to the Regular Toy Archetype and not the new Toy Archetype? --Wasn't 17:17, June 17, 2014 (UTC).
No, because we document anime-only archetypes on the Wiki as well as OCG/TCG ones. For example, "Heroic Chance" is still listed as a "Heroic Champion" support card because it supports that archetype in the anime. If a second card that supports 「トーイ」 cards appears in the anime, we will remove the category from "Toy Pot", the way we stopped listing "Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss" as a "Shark" support card when other anime "Shark" support cards were created. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 17:31, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
I think I get it now. Thanks 4 ur help.--Wasn't 17:45, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
Sure. Things related to archetypes have a habit of confusing people. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 17:55, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
I posted this having Toy Pot's lore in mind. It's the same case as "Cat", whose support reads "猫" or "キャット". We didn't make two different articles exactly because it supports both variations. Toy Pot also support both variations, so there shouldn't be different articles for them; both "トイ" and "トーイ" cards are supported. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 21:42, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
"Cat" and "Neko" not being two separate articles was an oversight, like Polymerization (archetype) and Fusion (archetype) not being two separate pages. Both cases are now corrected.--Golden Key (talkcontribs) 01:11, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
But again, why making separate articles? I'm not sure about Polymerization/Fusion, but the only "Cat" support cards support both "Kyatto" and "Neko". In my opinion, the previous version was more correct - one single article, saying "Cat (Kyatto or Neko) is an archetype...". Both variations have the same translation and are supported by the same card(s), they are not meant to be treated as two separate archetypes. Two separate Japanese strings are supported; the fact that they're treated as the same in the effect is immaterial. If nothing else, think of it as us hedging our bets against a hypothetical future card that only supports one. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:19, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
