Rio and Bronk, Rio and Rei[edit]

It has been discussed before about the place of Rio and Bronk but the user keeps adding it back even though he has nothing to say to it in why he added Rio. Can you please revert it to Bronk? ----SharkTenjo 00:43, December 15, 2012 (UTC)

Bronk's been around from the start, but I'm seeing no other reason to choose him over Rio, really. I'd say she's just as, if not more, deserving of the spot in the top 6. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 01:21, December 15, 2012 (UTC)
If you see my links, Delta says that a main-main character doesn't need to be part of the plot. Also Rio doesnt appear that much and do some comic relief. She's only USUALLY there when they are having the story. ----SharkTenjo 11:57, December 15, 2012 (UTC)
While it's technically true that a character doesn't need to always be a part of the plot to be a main character, Bronk's barely even been relevant as comic relief lately. Having him in the main 6 is like picking Bastion over Jesse for GX's template. The things Rio's done since taking her bandages off have already made her at least equal in significance to Bronk, and it's repeatedly implied that she's only going to become more relevant as the series continues. The same can't be said for Bronk. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 02:15, December 16, 2012 (UTC)
Actually Shingetsu is the equivalent of Jesse. Hes the new "best friend" of the protagonist and he also serves as comic relief and somewhat connected to the plot. Rio only comes if the episode is about her and when a Barian comes she will sense it. ----SharkTenjo 09:22, December 21, 2012 (UTC)
I find it funny that this page gets locked for a week because of your edit warring, then as soon the lock expires you decided to unilaterally change it again. Shingetsu is indeed a valid suggestion, but you should have waited to make sure majority agrees. I'm sending a message to Super side swiper to comment here, leave it as is for the time being. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 19:27, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry I won't do it without coming here first but as is Rio has done more as she actually done something for the plot while the only thing Rei has done is A. Befriend Yuma and B. Act suspicious while if you have watched the recent episodes Rio has defeated a chaos xys befriend yuma and shown a mysterious abillity to sense the creeps from barian.--Super side swiper 20:06, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
See this. If you read Deltaneos' comments, you would b enlightened.
"I don't think impact on the plot is what makes someone a main character."
" If you have a comic relief character who appears in every episode, has plenty of dialogue, but is overall useless in terms of progression of the story, they could be considered a main character."
I have been telling you this way back even before the discussion because you were also the one who keeps adding them. A character doesn't need to be connected to the plot to be named a "main character". When Shingetsu 1st appeared what did he do? Did some "comic relief". What does Shingetsu USUALLY do? Did some "comic relief" and admiring Yuma, always by him side and follows him. What did Rio do during her debut? Stuck in a friggin' hospital telling them that "THEY are coming". Rio during her recovery? Dueled seriously. What does Rio do USUALLY? Telling her brother that a Barian came. Also who IS Yuma's current bestfriend? Shingetsu. His role is the same as Jesse Anderson and yes, he is part of the main character. They also have an upcoming duel mimicking the duel of Jaden & Jesse VS an antagonist.
If you are going to say that Rio should be added because "she is part of the plot" then ALOT of characters are more deserving to be added with that basis. Kazuma Tsukumo is part of the plot, why isn't he added? Number 39: Utopia (character)? Number 32: Shark Drake (character)? Dr. Faker? Thats the reason we cannot have "main characters" just because they are important to the plot. ----SharkTenjo 23:41, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
I think the best option to go with is cast lists. They usually put the main characters first, followed by recurring/important to the particular episode, followed by minor. These are the first few names on the credits for the episodes this arc:
  • Episode 84: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Shingetsu, Ryoga, Rio, Kaito, Haruto, Orbital 7, etc.
  • Episode 83: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Ryoga, Rio, Kaito, Orbital 7, Misael, etc.
  • Episode 82: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Shingetsu, Ryoga, Rio, Kaito, Haruto, Orbital 7 etc.
  • Episode 81: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Shingetsu, Ryoga, Rio, Tetsuo, Todoroki, etc.
  • Episode 80 (says we have the wrong air date): Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Shingetsu, Tetsuo, Alit, etc.
  • Episode 79: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Shingetsu, Ryoga, Rio, Gilag, etc.
  • Episode 78: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Shingetsu, Ryoga, Rio, Gilag, etc.
  • Episode 77: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Tetsuo, Todoroki, Shingetsu etc.
  • Episode 76: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Tetsuo, Todoroki, Shingetsu etc.
  • Episode 75: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Ryoga, Kaito, Orbital 7, Gilag, etc.
  • Episode 74: Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Ryoga, Rio, Kaito, Orbital 7, etc.
Going by those lists, I'd list Yuma, Astral, Kotori (Tori), Shingetsu, Ryoga (Reginald / Shark) and Rio as the main six characters and not Kaito (Kite) or Tetsuo (Bronk). -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:47, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
I agree with that BUT Kaito is oviously the Main Rival. Hes the Jack, Chazz and Kaiba in Zexal. Also Delta, i think we should look for not only the newest episode in terms of Kaito as he is arguably part of the 6. ----SharkTenjo 07:04, December 26, 2012 (UTC)
Kaito really should be in the main six. He was absent for a while in ZEXAL II (which was nice), but he's back now and has a rival in one of the main villains. I would argue that Kaito and Shark both qualify as main rivals - but Shark is Yuma's, while Kaito is Astral's. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:31, December 26, 2012 (UTC)
then who will take the 6th spot? Shingetsu's name is more closer to the protagonist's name in the end credits, more close(personally) to the protagonist, is the new best friend, and is like the Jesse Anderson of the show while Rio is like only connected to the plot like the Haruto of 1st arc. So who will it be, Rio or Shingetsu? --49.145.58.76 (talk) 13:44, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
Shingestu was comic relief for that episode but he hasn't really had much of a role other than that he is very and right we just don't know who's side he on yet because mainly goes around and watches Yuma without getting involved directly up untill he was brainwashed for a sec but isn't enoungh to give him a main spot.--Super side swiper 16:04, January 18, 2013 (UTC)
Thats the point. As said in the top, you dont need to be connected to the plot to be a main character. You totally ignored all said above. If a comic relief character is present in every recent episode but totally useless in overall plot it makes him a main character. ----SharkTenjo 00:38, January 19, 2013 (UTC)
