|Anime debut||Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters episode 1: "Getting Played"|
A group of Trents appeared as characters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters anime. They are character versions of the "Trent" card. The Trents are sapient trees who reside in the forest region of the World of Capsule Monsters.
A single Trent attacked Yami Yugi in the forest region of the World of Capsule Monsters, by swinging its roots and branches. Yami dodged a few attacks before figuring out what his Capsule Shooter was for and summoning Celtic Guardian for protection. Celtic Guardian blocked and evaded more attacks from Trent, before managing to score a direct hit, which proved ineffective. This confused Yugi Muto, who thought that in Duel Monsters the "Celtic Guardian" card had much more ATK than "Trent". (Although "Trent" actually has 100 more ATK.) He and Yami then figured that Trent was getting a bonus for being in the forest, like in the Capsule Monsters board game. Trent managed to wear out and hit Celtic Guardian, causing Yami to feel pain too.
A number of trees in the forest revealed themselves to be more Trents. They surrounded Yami and Celtic Guardian and pinned them to the ground. Yugi pointed out a noticed a nearby capsule to Yami, who was unable to reach it. Celtic Guardian then threw his sword, cutting the branch which had a grip on Yami's leg. This allowed Yami to release Hinotama Soul, whose fire element made it easy for it to destroy the wooden Trents.
