0X[edit]
8600: Does "Depth Amulet" remain on the field if the third End Phase after its activation is skipped?
- If your third End Phase is skipped by an effect like "Arcana Force XXI - The World", then "Depth Amulet" is not destroyed and remains face-up on the field.
- If "Damage Translation" has already resolved, then the damage inflicted by your opponent's "Ookazi" will be halved from 800 to 400 damage. Afterwards, if "Barrel Behind the Door" is activated, the damage will remain at 400, so that 400 damage will be inflicted to your opponent.
8602: Who receives the damage when control of a monster targeted by "Turbo Cannon" changes?
- The effect of "Turbo Cannon" inflicts damage to the current controller of the monster when resolving the effect. If you chain an effect like "Enemy Controller" to "Turbo Warrior" to take control of the opponent's targeted monster, then the damage is inflicted to you.
- Damage inflicted by the effect of "Turbo Cannon" is equal to the ATK of the monster while it is on the field. If an effect (like a Field Spell Card) is increasing/decreasing the monster's ATK, then the damage inflicted is half of the increased/decreased ATK.
- The effect of "Turbo Cannon" which destroys the monster and the effect which inflicts damage occur simultaneously.
- You cannot activate the "Attack Postion:" effect of "Morphtronic Magnen Bar" if you control three or more other monsters, even if one of those other monsters is in Defense Position.
8605: Do the effects of "Sword of Sparkles" target? Do they start Chains?
- The effect of "Sword of Sparkles" which destroys an opponent's card activates and starts a Chain at the end of the Damage Step. This effect targets the card to be destroyed.
- The effect of "Sword of Sparkles" which returns it from the Graveyard to the top of your Deck starts a Chain, but does not target.
8606: Does the effect of "Damage Translation" which Special Summons the "Ghost Tokens" start a Chain?
- During the End Phase, the effect of "Damage Translation" which Special Summons the "Ghost Tokens" starts a Chain. If you did not receive any damage during this turn, then the effect does not activate and does not start a Chain.
- If the activation of "Reinforce Truth" is negated by an effect like "Magic Jammer" [sic], then you can still enter your Battle Phase. If only the effect of "Reinforce Truth" is negated by an effect like "Royal Decree", then you cannot enter your Battle Phase.
8608: Does the effect of "Saber Slash" target? Also, can the card destroy itself when it is activated?
- The effect of "Saber Slash" does not target.
- The effect of "Saber Slash" destroys a number of cards equal to the number of "X-Saber" monsters you control when the effect resolves. You choose the cards to be destroyed at this time.
- When "Saber Slash" is activated, it cannot destroy itself with its effect.
8609: Is the discard of a card from the hand to the Graveyard an activation cost for "Depth Amulet"?
- The text "discard 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard" of "Depth Amulet" is done at resolution. It is not a cost.
1X[edit]
- If the effect of "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua" is negated by "Skill Drain", then you still cannot Normal Summon a second "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua". This is because the effect "There can only be 1 face-up "Earthbound Immortal" monster on the field" of the second "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua" is still applied while the second "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua" is in the hand.
- For the effect of "Earthbound Immortal Cusillu", you Tribute the monster and halve your opponent's Life Points at the end of the Damage Step when the destroyed monster would normally be sent to the Graveyard. Also, you cannot Tribute an "Earthbound Immortal Cusillu" for its own effect.
- You can activate the effect of "Skill Successor" which gives +800 ATK during the Damage Step before Damage Calculation, but not during Damage Calculation or afterwards.
8613: Can "XX-Saber Gottoms" activate its effect by Tributing a "XX-Saber" monster?
- "XX-Saber" contains "X-Saber" in it, so "XX-Saber" monsters are also "X-Saber" monsters. You can Tribute a "XX-Saber" monster to activate the effect of "XX-Saber Gottoms". Also, "XX-Saber Faultroll" can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "XX-Saber" monster from your Graveyard.
8614: Can you use a Tuner and an EARTH Tuner as Synchro Material Monsters for "XX-Saber Gottoms"?
- When Synchro Summoning "XX-Saber Gottoms", you can use EARTH Tuner Monsters for the "1 or more EARTH Monsters".
- When you opponent activates "Monster Reborn" and Special Summon your Synchro Monster to his field, if "Remove Brainwashing" is on the field, then the monster is still considered to have been Special Summoned to your opponent's field, even though it is now on your side of the field. Thus, you can activate the effect of "Shiny Black "C"" to destroy the Synchro Monster, even though it is on your side of the field.
- If "Magicat" is used for the Synchro Summon of a Synchro Monster who is changed to a Spellcaster-Type monster by an effect like "DNA Surgery", then you can activate the effect of "Magicat".
8617: Does the damage-inflicting effect of "Core Reinforcement" activate on the field?
- The damage-inflicting effect of "Core Reinforcement" activates when the "Koa'ki Meiru" monster is sent to the Graveyard (or removed from play, etc). If "Core Reinforcement" is sent to the Graveyard, then its effect activates in the Graveyard, so "The End of Anubis" will negate it.
8618: Can "Koa'ki Meiru Tornado" destroy a monster which was Special Summoned face-down?
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Tornado" can destroy face-down monsters, such as monsters Special Summoned face-down by "The Shallow Grave" or monsters that were Special Summoned and then flipped face-down by "Book of Moon".
- After a Gemini Monster is Special Summoned by an effect like "Monster Reborn" and then is Normal Summoned a second time, the Gemini Monster is still considered to have been Special Summoned. Thus, the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Tornado" will still destroy the Gemini Monster.
2X[edit]
- When you draw multiple copies of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" simultaneously, if you activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Speeder", then you only show one copy of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to your opponent.
- If "Koa'ki Meiru Crusader" battles with a monster with equal ATK and both monsters are destroyed by battle, then you can activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Crusader" and return one "Koa'ki Meiru" card to your hand.
8622: How do you calculate the ATK increase or decrease to "Ancient Sacred Wyvern"?
- The effect of "Ancient Sacred Wyvern" increases or decreases its ATK based on the current difference between your and your opponents' Life Points. The increase or decrease is NOT based solely on your opponent's Life Points. If either player's Life Points changes, then the increase or decrease changes accordingly.
- Example: If you have 2000 Life Points and your opponent has 1000, then "Ancient Sacred Wyvern" gains +1000 ATK. If your opponent's Life Points then increase to 1500, then the ATK increase to "Ancient Sacred Wyvern" becomes +500.
- If "Archfiend Zombie-Skull" is on the field, monsters Special Summoned by "Il Blud" are not destroyed when "Il Blud" is removed from the field. This includes if "Archfiend Zombie-Skull" is itself Special Summoned by the effect of "Il Blud".
- The negating effect of "Armed Sea Hunter" will still activate when "<script type="text/javascript" src="http://anime.wikia.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Anime-Monobook-Accesstips.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s&templates=expand"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://anime.wikia.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Portlet.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s&templates=expand"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://anime.wikia.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Hacks.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s&templates=expand"></script>Armed Sea Hunter" is destroyed by battle.
8625: The damage received by "Armored Axon Kicker" refers to the destroyed monster's ATK at what time?
- The damage received by the effect of "Armored Axon Kicker" is based on the monster's Original ATK after it is destroyed by battle. If the destroyed monster had its ATK modified, such as by a Field Spell Card, then you still only use the monster's Original ATK.
8626: Can "Iron Core Luster" be activated while "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" is already revealed?
- You cannot activate "Iron Core Luster" while "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" is already revealed, such as by "Respect Play" or "Ceremonial Bell".
8627: Can you activate the effect of "Minefieldriller" when it is attacked while face-down and destroyed?
- You cannot activate the effect of "Minefieldriller" when it is attacked while face-down and destroyed during Damage Calculation.
- The Attribute and Level of the monster Tributed to activate the effect of "Cyborg Doctor" are checked while the monster is on the field. If you Tribute an "Elemental Mistress Doriado", then you can Special Summon a LIGHT, FIRE, WATER, WIND, or EARTH monster.
8629: Can the effect of "Minefieldriller" be activated when it returns from the field to the hand or Deck?
- If a face-up "Minefieldriller" is returned from the field to the hand, then you can activate its effect by revealing it to your opponent. However, you cannot activate the effect of "Minefieldriller" when it is face-up and returned from the field to the Deck.
3X[edit]
8630: [Damage Step] Can the effect of "Shiny Black "C"" be activated in the Damage Step?
- The effect of "Shiny Black "C"" cannot be activated during the Damage Step, such as when "Colossal Fighter" is destroyed by battle and Special Summons itself.
- If "Flamvell Firedog" is not face-up on the field when the destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard, then the effect of "Flamvell Firedog" does not activate. Thus, the effect will not activate if "Flamvell Firedog" battles with a monster with equal ATK and both are destroyed by battle, so you cannot Special Summon a FIRE monster with 200 or less DEF.
- When a monster like "Gravekeeper's Chief" is destroyed because you can only control one copy of "Gravekeeper's Chief", it is not treated as being destroyed by a card effect. When "Archfiend Zombie-Skull" and "DNA Surgery" declaring "Zombie" are on the field, if a second "Gravekeeper's Chief" is flipped face-up, then it will still be destroyed.
8633: The negation effect of "Armed Sea Hunter" is applied for how long?
- When a monster's effects are negated by "Armed Sea Hunter", its effects remain negated even after the Damage Step. When "Armed Sea Hunter" destroys "Treeborn Frog" by battle, the effect of "Treeborn Frog" will be negated and it cannot Special Summon itself during the Standby Phase.
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Hydro Barrier" will also negate the effects of monsters Summoned after the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Hydro Barrier" resolves.
8635: When can you activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Speeder"?
- When you draw an "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" as your normal draw, if you wish to activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Speeder", then you must activate it when the "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" is drawn. (You cannot activate the effect at a later time.)
- If you draw "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" in the middle of resolving a Chain, then you miss the timing and cannot activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Speeder.
- If "Armed Sea Hunter" destroys a monster like "Mystic Tomato" or "Sangan" by battle, then the monster's effect will be negated even though it activates in the Graveyard.
- If "Armed Sea Hunter" destroys "D.D. Scout Plane" by battle and "D.D. Scout Plane" is removed from play by "Macro Cosmos", then the effect of "D.D. Scout Plane" is not negated. It will be Special Summoned during the End Phase.
- If an effect like "Book of Moon" is chained to the effect of "Shiny Black "C"" so that the Synchro Monster is face-down when resolving the effect of "Shiny Black "C"", then "Shiny Black "C"" will not destroy the face-down monster.
- The effect of "Shiny Black "C"" can only be activated when one Synchro Monster is Special Summoned. If multiple monsters including one Synchro Monster are Special Summoned simultaneously, then you cannot activate the effect of "Shiny Black "C"". If multiple Synchro Monsters are Special Summoned simultaneously with no non-Synchro Monsters, then you cannot activate the effect of "Shiny Black "C"".
- The text "if this card is used as a Synchro Material Monster, the other Synchro Material Monsters must all be WATER monsters" of "Fishborg Blaster" is not treated as an effect. It cannot be negated by cards like "Skill Drain", so all ther other Synchro Material Monsters must be WATER even if "Skill Drain" is active.
4X[edit]
8640: When "Brain Research Lab" is negated, are the Psychic Counters on it removed?
- If the effect of "Brain Research Lab" is negated by an effect like "Imperial Order" or "Spell Canceller", then all Psychic Counters on "Brain Research Lab" are removed.
8641: Can "Rekindling" be activated while the effect of "Imperial Iron Wall" is active?
- "Rekindling" can be activated while "Imperial Iron Wall" is active. During the End Phase, the monsters cannot be removed from play because of "Imperial Iron Wall", so they will remain on the field.
- "Release Restraint Wave" cannot be activated if the opponent does not control any Set Spell or Trap Cards.
8643: Is the effect of "Release Restraint Wave" applied when "Fusion Sword Murasame Blade" is targeted?
- You can activate "Release Restraint Wave" and target "Fusion Sword Murasame Blade". When resolving "Release Restraint Wave", all your opponent's Set Spell and Trap Cards will still be destroyed, even though "Fusion Sword Murasame Blade" cannot be destroyed.
- [[Card Rulings:Fusion Sword Murasame Blade], Card Rulings:Release Restraint Wave
- If a monster battles and is then flipped face-down, then the effect of "Ancient Forest" will still destroy it at the end of the Battle Phase.
- You choose the time during the End Phase when the effect of "Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord" disappears. After it disappears, players can destroy Level 3 or lower WATER monsters during the same turn.
- The effect of "Solidarity" increases the ATK of a monster if the monster's current Type is the same as the Types of all monsters in your Graveyard. If you only have Warrior-Type monsters in your Graveyard and you control "DNA Surgery" declaring "Warrior" and a Dragon-Type monster, then the Dragon-Type monster will gain 800 ATK.
8647: Is "Hydro Pressure Cannon" destroyed when the equipped monster becomes Level 4 or higher?
- If "Hydro Pressure Cannon" is equipped to a Level 3 monster and then an effect increases the monster's Level to 4, then "Hydro Pressure Cannon" is destroyed because the monster is now an improper target for "Hydro Pressure Cannon.
8648: Does the effect of "Hydro Pressure Cannon" start a Chain?
- The effect of "Hydro Pressure Cannon" which sends one random card from your opponent's hand to your opponent's Graveyard activates and starts a Chain at the end of the Damage Step when the destroyed monster is sent from the field to the Graveyard. The effect will still activate if the destroy monster is removed from play instead.
8649: Does each effect of "Spirit Burner" start a Chain?
- Each effect of "Spirit Burner" starts a Chain.
5X[edit]
- You can activate "Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord" even if you do not control any Level 3 or lower WATER monsters. If you Summon such a monster after "Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord" resolves, then that monster cannot be destroyed.
- If a Level 3 or lower WATER monster is Summoned after "Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord" resolves, then that monster also cannot be destroyed.
8652: Does the effect of "Core Reinforcement" start a Chain?
- The damage-inflicting effect of "Core Reinforcement" starts a Chain.
- If an effect like "Crush Card Virus" is chained to the effect of "Water Hazard" so that you have no Level 4 or lower WATER monsters in your hand when resolving the effect of "Water Hazard", then your opponent can check your hand to verify that there are none.
- If an effect is chained to the effect of "Water Hazard" so that you control a monster when resolving the effect of "Water Hazard", then the effect of "Water Hazard" resolves without effect. You cannot Special Summon a Level 4 or lower WATER monster.
- If a monster is Special Summoned by "Rekindling" and then flipped face-down by an effect like "Book of Moon", then the effect of "Rekindling" is no longer applied, so the monster will not be removed from play during the End Phase.
8656: Does the effect of "Water Hazard" start a Chain?
- The effect of "Water Hazard" starts a Chain.
8657: Can the effects of "Brain Research Lab" be activated by the opponent of its controller?
- Both players may use the effect of "Brain Research Lab" to Normal Summon a Psychic-Type monster in addition to the player's usual Normal Summon or Set. The Psychic Counter is still placed on "Brain Research Lab" when the opponent uses this effect. However, the opponent cannot use the effect of "Brain Research Lab" to place a Psychic Counter on it instead of paying Life Points to activate the effect of a Psychic-Type monster.
8658: Can the activation of "Water Hazard" be negated by the effect of "Royal Oppression"?
- If you activate "Water Hazard" from your hand and choose to activate its effect to Special Summon a monster at the same time, then the effect of "Royal Oppression" can be chained to negate the activation of and destroy "Water Hazard". However, if you activate "Water Hazard" from your hand and do not activate its effect at the same time, then "Royal Oppression" cannot be chained.
8659: Does the effect of "Ancient Forest" which destroys a monster which attacked start a Chain?
- The effect "if a monster attacks, it is destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase" of "Ancient Forest" activates and starts a Chain.
6X[edit]
8660: Does each effect of "Brain Research Lab" start a Chain?
- No effect of "Brain Research Lab" starts a Chain.
- If you control "Pixie Ring" and two or more monsters, all of whom have equal ATK, then your opponent cannot declare an attack. He can only attack directly with a monster with the effect of being able to attack directly, like "Jinzo #7".
- If you have two copies of "Spirit Burner" in your Graveyard, then instead of drawing you can activate each copy's effect as a Chain. However, only the copy placed at Chain Link 2 will return to your hand, and the copy placed at Chain Link 1 will resolve without effect because you already returned a card to your hand instead of drawing. In total, only one copy of "Spirit Burner" will be returned to your hand.
- When "Gladiator Beast Alexander" battles while "Ancient Forest" is active, both effects are to resolve at the end of the Battle Phase, so the Turn Player can choose to resolve his effects first. If the same player controls both "Gladiator Beast Alexander" and "Ancient Forest", then the effects resolve in the order that the player chooses.
8664: Is a monster whose attack was negated destroyed by "Ancient Forest"?
- If a monster's attack is negated by an effect like "Magic Cylinder", then the monster will not be destroyed by the effect of "Ancient Forest" at the end of the Battle Phase.
8665: Effect Monster > Darklord Asmodeus
- The text, "this card cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck or Graveyard." of "Darklord Asmodeus" is not treated as an effect.
- The text, "an "Asmo Token" cannot be destroyed by card effects. A "Deus Token" cannot be destroyed by battle." of "Darklord Asmodeus" is an effect that is resolved when the "Asmo Token" and the "Deus Token" are Special Summoned.
8666: Synchro Monster > Road Warrior
- The effect of "Road Warrior" does not target.
8667: Trap Card > Gottoms' Emergency Call
- The effect of "Gottoms' Emergency Call" targets two "X-Saber" monsters in the Graveyard.
8668: Spell Card > Pride of the Weak
- The effect of "Pride of the Weak" starts a Chain when the opponent's destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard.

8675: Effect Monster > Infernity Dwarf
8676: Effect Monster > Infernity Archfiend
- Revealing "Infernity Archfiend" to the opponent is a cost to activate its effect which lets it Special Summon itself.
8677: Effect Monster > Skull Conductor
- The effect of "Skull Conductor" which makes it destroy itself occurs during the End Step of the Battle Phase.
- Sending "Skull Conductor" from the hand to the Graveyard is a cost to activate its effect which Special Summons the Zombie-Type monsters.
8678: Effect Monster > Burning Skull Head
- Removing from play a face-up "Burning Skull Head" is a cost to activate its effect which returns "Skull Flame" to the Graveyard.
- The effect of "Burning Skull Head" which returns one "Skull Flame" to your Graveyard targets one "Skull Flame" which is removed from play.
8679: Effect Monster > Skull Flame
- The effect of "Skull Flame" which adds a "Burning Skull Head" to your hand instead of drawing targets one "Burning Skull Head" in your Graveyard.
- Both effects of "Skull Flame" are both optional effects which can be activated while "Skull Flame" is face-up on the field.
8X[edit]
8680: Effect Monster > Supersonic Skull Flame
- "Supersonic Skull Flame" is a Special Summon Monster.
- The text, "This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 1 "Skull Flame" in your Graveyard from play" of "Supersonic Skull Flame" is not treated as an effect.
- "Supersonic Skull Flame" can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by an effect like "Monster Reborn" only if "Supersonic Skull Flame" was properly Special Summoned beforehand.
- The effect of "Supersonic Skull Flame" which Special Summons a "Skull Flame" from your Graveyard targets one "Skull Flame".
8681: Synchro Monster > Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier

9X[edit]
8690: Effect Monster > Caravan of the Ice Barrier

8691: Effect Monster > Dewdark of the Ice Barrier

- The effect of "Shock Troops of the Ice Barrier" targets one face-up WATER monster. You can also target a WATER monster that your opponent controls.
- If you do not have any "Ice Barrier" monsters in your Deck, then you cannot activate the effect of "Shock Troops of the Ice Barrier".
