Decree being chained

It was like I activate my Decree then my opponent chain Graceful Revival to it, revived a monster before my Decree could resolve. Does monster survive or he have to disappear? --FredCat 23:53, March 31, 2011 (UTC)

So that's base same idea as Jinzo being treated when he's summoned by "Call of the Haunted". Thanks for clear it up for me. I need to post that in my Judge Ruling to prevent the further confusedness. --FredCat 00:47, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

Awesome Summary!

Heya Deltaneos, great summary for ep 153. I was wondering if you were planning to do one for 154 or so. No rush, but it would be awesome! —This unsigned comment was made by Clark Griswald (talkcontribs) 21:12, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

No problem! I don't think you'll be able to tell where the hospital is with all the details we have now, sadly. Anyway, I can't wait to see the summary! I hope it'll be up soon, but I don't mean to rush you! Just I guess this last summary will sort of put an end to 5D's on this site. Quite an honor you have! —This unsigned comment was made by Clark Griswald (talkcontribs) 22:00, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Re:Light Boy again

I would say that has to be it. That was one of my original thoughts, and this seems to be back it up. Them having the same voice actor makes sense and the position in the list also makes sense. It certainly makes more sense than my other ideas, which were "random Society of Light member" and "some kid in Dark World". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:51, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Number of duels

I am trying to put the number of duels each character has participated in into their info boxes but I don't know how. Preferably in the info about their decks, not the page about their decks.--Thanonyx (talkcontribs) 17:01, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

File name redirects

I accidentally left a file name redirect unsuppressed when I moved a file recently. I had always assumed that we don't keep the redirects because the image wouldn't display with a redirect and that the redirect only applied to manual image searches. However, it seems that after I moved the file and left the redirect, the image still showed up. If this is the case, what on earth is the point of deleting image redirects? It seems like a gigantic waste of time to go and replace all the image links if we don't have to do so. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:25, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

While it is true that there are no display problems with using a redirect to a file as opposed to the file itself, such uses are not listed on the file's page under the "File links" header, and if the only uses of the file occur through its redirect(s), the file will also be listed on Special:UnusedFiles (these are bugs with file redirects, but AFAIK they're pretty low priority and no one is working on them). In short, it's a maintenance task as opposed to fixing any *real* problems. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:36, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
Ok then, fair enough. That's a sound enough reason for me to delete the redirects and change the uses. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:53, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

Yokai

I'm aware of how inconsistent their support cards seem to classify them. A bunch of pages seemed to list them all as Zombie support, yet the the given Japanese manga lore was linking to the Yokai Monster page. I've changed this to read "Yokai Monster" instead and removed the Zombie support cats. My actual question is whether a few being released as Zombies in the real game is enough to classify the manga only cards as Zombie-Types (which they currently are). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:27, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

I'm just going to go ahead and be really blunt and say something that's been on my mind for a while. I'm glad I joined this wiki when I did - after you took over as bureaucrat. Based on what I've seen in relation to some of the early administrator decisions, some very illogical things were done. Deleting OCG redirects, trying to tailor EVERYTHING to look as close to real-world cards as possible, etc. Had I been here in the early days, I think I would have gone fucking ballistic trying to deal with stuff like that. Even now, it actually pisses me off that those decisions were made. Obviously, my info on this is very incomplete. I'm sure the early administrators were wonderful editors in their own right, but some decisions just boggle my mind. Hopefully I've not offended you, as I realize that some of those editors were very likely friends of yours. I've said my piece, respond if you want, or don't. Either. I'll go back to pretending I know what I'm doing now. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:03, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
Alright, that sounds fine. But yeah, the Attribute is iffy, with "Goka, the Pyre of Malice" being FIRE. I'll look into the English manga changing it to Zombie. If they did, maybe piping Yokai Monster to read Zombie would be appropriate. Not sure. My apologies about the rant there. Looking at it now, it's a bit over-the-top. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:08, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
According to Silva at Janime forums, the English manga still calls them Yokai Monsters. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:35, April 11, 2011 (UTC)

ZX or ZL

Since Falzar FZ added ZX as abbreviation for Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, we used it as the policy for many manga images. But you seem to be preferred ZL more. Should we make a discussion about which one should be used? Also about "Zeus Breath" and "Poseidon Waves", should we listed them in two separated articles? ZEXAL anime summaries.

Are you planning on doing them as you did the later 5D's episodes? If not, I can do some of them, as I do plan to try to watch the series from the beginning. Don't want to step on your feet and there's no point in two people doing a summary for the same episodes. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:30, April 13, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I guess that answers my question. Ideally, it would be nice not to have any episodes without full summaries, since all other series do suffer from that. If you can't do a summary for any given ZEXAL episode in the future, let me know and I can try my hand at it, so that we at least have something there. I mean by the forum of that article... it's complete different from the one I used to building for the Gallery Article. Not just width, if you misunderstand what I mean - I was such to point at the line size. I created it with just form that little bigger than the match size of card itself, not length the whole article - from your left to the right. --FredCat 19:38, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

Capsule Monster Coliseum

Hi Deltaneos, I was wondering if it would be okay with you if I started creating pages which contained Monsters from the video game Capsule Monster Coliseum. The pages would include their stats and other useful things. The page name would be like [Monster Name](CMC). Is that okay with you? Shrev64(TalkContribs) 03:22, April 17, 2011 (UTC)Shrev64

Do you know is the game played in Capsule Monster Coliseum much different than Mattel's Capsule Monsters game? It might be better to use "(CM)" than "(CMC)", since "(CM)" is what we've used for Mattel's game and "(CMC)" is used for Capsule Monster Chess. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:25, April 17, 2011 (UTC)
Hm, there are some major differences between the Capsule Monsters Game and Capsule Monster Coliseum. I can see similarities, but there are some game-changing differences (i.e. in Capsule Monster Coliseum, monsters don't have special abilities that affect their movement/range.) Shrev64(TalkContribs) 05:45, April 18, 2011 (UTC)Shrev64
Okay. This isn't the first time cards have had different stats in video games than the real world and they usually share articles unless it is considered a totally different game. What fixed stats do cards use in Capsule Monster Coliseum? ATK, DEF, Ability, Attribute etc.? Would it be possible for a card in that game to share an article with its Mattel counterpart? Movement patterns only existing in one game wouldn't be as big a problem as movement patterns existing in both games, but being different in each. -- Deltaneos (talk) 10:58, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Delta, but isn't it about time to change the "Featured Card" on the Main Page? Just wondering...Shrev64(TalkContribs) 05:33, April 18, 2011 (UTC)Shrev64

Yes, but I'm not very up-to-date with the current metagame, so I don't think I should write it myself. A few substandard ones were written recently, so there was some attempt to come with a formal process for who writes about what card, but it was inconclusive. If you want to write one yourself, please post your suggestions on that forum. If you're looking for someone else to write one, Messengerofthedark, Neonian, Nobody-, Runer5h and YamiWheeler seem more up-to-date if you'd like to ask one of them. -- Deltaneos (talk) 10:36, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Need a little help.

I'm having some problems with User:TheScarecrow14. He's a great editor, and has contributed significantly to video game decklists and making Deck sections very consistent. Too consistent. As evidenced by his talk page, I've left him a lot of messages, most of which he ignores. Every week or so, I seem to find something else that he does that seems like a good idea at a first glance, but ends up being excessive. For another example, take the "Deck" section of Tetsuo Takeda. It shouldn't be there. We don't know any of the cards in his Deck. The win/loss record can be listed in the prose of the article. As much as a like having specific notes for cards in decklists that may not be obvious, he takes it too far. See the revision history of Dragan. So I guess I'd just like to ask for your opinion on these matters, and if you agree with me, maybe leave him a message. Or if you don't agree me, leave me a message. Thanks, Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:31, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

Renaming cards

I need someone to change the name of ritualistic beast burial. I have been trying to do this for weeks. You need to have an account to be able to rename pages. You can create one at Special:Signup. (E-mail isn't required despite what it looks like.) After you move a page, you also need to its corresponding Card Gallery, Card Appearances etc. pages too.
If you'd rather not create an account you can add {{Rename|New page name|Reason}} to the top of an article. Replace the red italics stuff with the appropriate name and reason and someone else will rename the page in time. -- Deltaneos (talk) 11:40, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Checkuser request

I believe we have a vandal with a dynamic IP address. Very persistent. See Special:Blocklist. I believe the last six IPs I've blocked are the same person. I honestly have to give him credit for going so far as vandalizing episode, card appearances and Decklist pages consistently. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:18, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Checkuser tells you what IPs accounts have used and what accounts IPs have used. It won't do anything of use in this situation, not that I even have access to it.
Rangeblocking is what's used to deal with someone using multiple IPs, but it only works if the IPs begin with the same few numbers.
I'm afraid you'll just have to block the IPs individually. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:46, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Archetypes being included as Sacred Cards

Okay, so far, the achetypes listed as sacred cards are: • Exodia • Egyptian Gods • Wicked Gods • Orichalcos • Legendary Dragons • Legendary Planets • Sacred Beasts • Signer Dragons • Earthbound Immortals • Meklords • Aesir • Temporal Machine Gods • Numbers. What im wondering is that how do archetypes be included in this classification. Exodia. How is it sacred? just because it can finish the whole game doesnt mean its sacred right? many cards has similar effects of exodia like Destiny Board, how is it included? Egyptian Gods.. well i can see why it is included as stated that they are (as stated in the anime) the strongest cards in the game, the same as wicked gods, their counterparts and, Orichalcos? well how? it was just used by antagonists, same as the Meklords and Temporal Machine Gods, why is it included? Legendary dragons? well they play a large role as sacred in the Waking of The Dragons Arc as they choose people to become their owner and such, and the Legendary Planets in the GX Manga, Sacred Beast, the GX counterpart of Egyptian Gods also the Signer Dragons which is the whole point of the 5D's Series, Earthbound Immortals also and the Aesir and Numbers in the ZeXal Saga. My whole point is HOW DO WE INCLUDE ARCHETYPES AS SACRED? 33royward (talkcontribs) 04:10, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

You mean, what criteria do we use to decide whether an archetype is sacred or not, right? This is something I've long wondered, as well. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:51, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
I would say it's if the cards pertain to some divine being(s) in anime or manga. That makes "Exodia" questionable. I wouldn't say that the "Meklords" or "Temporal Machine Gods" count. -- Deltaneos (talk) 10:41, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
Not all the currently listed archetypes are not "Sacred." However, they all do have one thing in common - they're plot-relevant to the anime or manga. So I think that renamed the template might be a good idea, but "LOL, plot" wouldn't make for a good template name. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 12:21, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
Not all of them listed are plot relevant. Like Exodia. The Temporal Machine Gods was never plot relevant nor displayed being divine beings, it was just used by an antagonist and has "God" in their names. Meklords... well i think their included as they were plot relevant in the WRGP arc. So i think "Exodia" and "Temporal Machine Gods" should be removed. 33royward (talkcontribs) 03:51, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
Nah, I would vote them to stay, as Exodia is unbeatable once all five pieces are gaining together in certain way. Temporal Machine Gods are indeed a divine, they just be able to help the owner to keep alive (of course, except for Yusei, who is his base-looking) through the duel. --FredCat 12:02, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

I have moved that one you just deleted into my Judge Ruling Article. So it will help the future duelists to know the reason why. It's in List P if you are wondering. --FredCat 12:00, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

Yusei need a protection

Some idiots are trying to spamming the Yusei's article with different picture, you will know if you're checking out the history. --FredCat 21:30, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

CardTable2

How would feel about setting CardTable2 to have the "animelore" and "mangalore" parameters open by default? I know the real game is the priority, but I can't be the only person who opens a card article and doesn't care what the real lore is and wants to see the anime/manga effects. I think doing this would also cut down on the number of card appearances pages that need a CardTable for the vastly different effects. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:00, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

That sounds alright to me. Do you know how to make that change or would you rather I do it? -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:21, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Go ahead and do it. I have an idea of how to do it, but don't want to risk breaking the template, even if only for a few minutes. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:26, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
Bah, you don't know the joy in breaking templates (especially in subtle but exciting ways)! =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:34, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

Fake Cards

I noticed a few fake cards pop up on the wiki in the last day or so like The Goddess Star. Just thought you could take a look. Don't want fake stuff on here! —This unsigned comment was made by 143.229.212.107 (talkcontribs) 20:39, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
