News Template

On the Template:News when a set don't have any release day for example Structure Deck: Lightning Strike of the Mechlight Dragon or Gold Series 2014, it appears automatically as day 1. Can you do something to make the day not appear?--X-Metaman (talk • contribs) 22:08, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

Unfortunately, this is a shortcoming in the underlying features (it actually reaches all the way down to PHP), so there's not a lot I can do. I think there's a way I could at least detect cases like that, but it would add far more code to {{News}} than I'd be comfortable with, since there could be cases where people edit it to manually add release dates, and I'm not at all sure I'd be able to actually do anything if I did detect such cases. |?Date property name#MEDIAWIKI returns the date in "Month D, YYYY" format, taking partial dates into consideration. After that it's just a case of stripping the content after the comma (i.e. the year) from the date. We should be safe, as long as we don't use dates in the range December 14, 1901 and January 19, 2038. -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:26, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

Another quick question

Why does the name parameter for the japanese name in CardTable2 have a dash in it when none of the other names do?

It just stands out like a sore thumb.

Because after the card table update, all the name parameters will be formatted in that way. The reason the Japanese name parameter is like that already is because it was completely reworked a few months ago or so; it was originally a group of three parameters (kanji, jpname, and jphira) with confusing behavior, and their functionality could be reduced to a single parameter and greatly simplify the process of adding Japanese names to cards, so I went ahead and updated it ahead of the big update. 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 02:04, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Help Again

Hey, it's been a long while, but I would like some help on my wikia again. I was wondering if you know anyway of making it so that the MediaWiki:Common.css would only effect the decklist template. I'm actually having problems with the Music Infobox template that KouHime allowed me to take from the Free-anime wiki. Neither of us know what the issue is, but one of the community central members suggested that it is an issue with the Common.css. I tried just deleting the CSS code, but it appears that the code isn't the problem during my testing. When using the template, it seems that any data inputed isn't transferred into the source code like what we would normally see when you add data into an infobox and then view it in source view. I'm still not sure what the problem is. I've tried editing w:c:shikikira:Template:Sandbox and it seems to work fine for me.
